Kaion was deeply unhappy with the Shadow King's decision to grant asylum to his sister, who no longer wanted to return home, behaving like a spoiled little girl who needed a good s******g.  He tried to make himself useful by asking permission to spend time in the laboratory of the Sun House, studying the portals that open from time to time and space. Surprisingly, he was allowed to stay in the Sun house to study at heart. But first, and this seemed the strangest thing to him, he had to take a written exam on the Book of the Laws of Shadows, which he had already begun to study.  Reading it and knowing that his sister had to take the same exam as him, he began to wonder what would happen if she did not take the exam. Will they drive her away? What will she do on her own? She needed shelter and food. They had been separated since she had been granted asylum and he had not seen her for several days. He realized he was missing this little pain.  Being a Warchild he realized the power behind the name here.  Observing and listening to the king's subjects, he was able to discover how this world in which they were thrown worked. It wasn't that special. A king who made the law, a Council of Elders, and the common people. The most important were the soldiers, who were the only ones paid in silver. The others circulated copper coins or traded directly and everyone won.   It was clearly explained to him from the beginning that here in this world, his rank and his blood meant nothing, so he could not use them. He had nothing to do all day, because he was bored with his royal duties. So he could only investigate the portals. He could do this only from the Sun House, where he had to befriend the Lord's sons so that he could have unconditional access to information.  This princess of theirs, Moon, the Goddess who first greeted him in this world, was only following him like a locust. All the time, with his eyes on him, he watched him constantly, making him feel trapped in an invisible chain. How was it possible for a female to just follow like that, shamelessly, a man?  He was a warrior. He had important warrior tasks to do! He couldn't just waste his time like that, with her, only at her disposal! What did she want to do together, to bridle each other's tails? He had done that long enough with his sister when she was little, and even though she didn't braid her own hair, it was good that she had maids with her, otherwise he would have had to do the same when she was little. By the gods!   In the Sun House, he quickly realized that the decision-making power lay with the old lords, who each lived in their own castle on the northwestern border of the kingdom. Their sons and daughters were educated at the Sun Academy, which was based in the capital, and all the young people lived there with those who had dedicated their lives to the study of various sciences. The people here were great! Real scientists, serious and dedicated, almost like those in the world he comes from!   Even though he realized from the start that this female king was damn smart and her right hand was damn cautious and imposing, their orders were strictly followed by everyone in the house, without exception and that surprised him. These people were really organized. If in his world he could still spin people with his power, here he could not.  Firstly, because everyone only had ears for the king and only for the king's orders, and secondly, because he could no longer use his power here. It didn't seem to work for anyone. No one was subjugated by his mind control. And he didn't understand why.  -Because I already told you, you're not Royal Blood here.  Hearing the voice from the darkness, he was startled because he knew she was not there when he entered. -Your Highness? -Your rank and name mean nothing here.  -I don't even want to say anything. Believe me, I just want to go home.  -And your sister?  -Well, didn't she choose to stay here? And you didn't choose to receive her here?  -And are you going to leave her here?  Kaion looked at the female king, wondering what answer she would expect from him now. He hadn't even felt it when she entered the study room at the Academy. The three young men who were in the room were already standing and half-standing in front of her and listening to the conversation in silence.  -Well, hasn't she already chosen her way?  -And you are here to leave her? Really? -What answer do you want me to give you? -The truth, please; the king turned her back on him so as not to intimidate him with her penetrating gaze. Yes, that look stirred his soul and made him dig into the depths of his mind to confuse him. That's probably how she could extract information from spies, like a real King child.  -It is, he heard her speak.  So she was mind reading him. Of course, she was! That is a Warchild power, and she was one... Unfortunately, he did not have this power. His mother had been a Lady of the House of Scholars, as the Sun House was called in their world. She had been brutally killed by those Shadow Assassin dogs. That is why he hated them and he would never forget what they did when he was a little child. When Senere was such a little baby. The thing is, she was with their mother when she died. Their mother dies protecting her with her own body. They found her underneath her lifeless body, sleeping, in the middle of the war around them. Well, thinking about Senere, what else could a female do after all?
