Kaion was tired. It was already evening now, and all day he had no chance to get some rest, running everywhere to solve things and do his daily chores as the Crown Prince of Zicon. The Crown Prince of Zicon. For so long, he almost took this idea out of his head. For so many months, when he thought he could ever go back home. Now, he was home. And he just now realized how much he missed it. His big, room, with his own clothes, and his own wall decoration. His own people, with his own kind of jokes that everyone could understand. His big bed... How would that be for her? She must be missing those things of her world, just like he missed them. Instead, she was given a little room in the dungeon. Dark, even a little cold. She did not have many clothes on her when he took her. When he took her... What was he thinking that he would do with her here? That was it! He did not think at all. He just acted. He grabbed her hand, he wanted to say goodbye, he almost embraced her, and she smelled so good, her skin felt so soft, and he just... took a step forward. He did not even think! He just acted on his will and now, he will face the consequences, but he was also forcing her to pay for his actions too. And now, she was locked up in that ugly place, so not fit for a princess like her. So not fit at all! Yet, there she was. He felt guilty that he took her out of her world and he realized she would never fit in. What if she would never go home? Well, it was some equity, if you think about it, a princess for a princess... but her place was not here... just as Senere's was not there. He missed his sister. The last time he saw her, in the company of a little princess there, probably one of Moon's sisters, she was all radiating and smiling. She looked so happy there like he never saw her here. Was this world so cruel to her? His little sister. How will it be for this other princess then? Moon was nothing like his sister. She was.... she was The Goddess. One too brave for her own good. Too loud for her own good. She needed to learn how to survive here, just like Senere wanted to learn how to survive there. It was not as easy as there, because women here were not the women there. They were not allowed the freedom to do as they wished here... She would really not like it here... His father would not appreciate this one start causing people to rebel. And his father looked at her in a way... in a way, Kaion realized he was thinking pleasure, just like he took his second queen. If that would be the case... No, he shook his head, his father would not take a second queen now, after such a long time...? Would he? His heart almost stopped pumping when the thought crossed his mind. His father said this woman needed to be disciplined by the men. What did he have in mind? He did not want the princess to be unhappy here. Her smile was making her entire face shine like the sun. She had lost her smile in the few days they have reached his world. Had she eaten today? He got up from his bed, even if he felt tired. He just wanted to check if anyone has given her food. She was in the dungeon treated like a common prisoner, but she was not a criminal, so they did not need to treat her like one. She could not be starving here, in his world. She helped him there, in hers. On the way to the dungeon, he grabbed the Book of the laws for her. She needed to learn them, to see what are they guiding after, to live their lives here. The door men opened the door to her cell. She was down on the floor, holding her head in her palms. It was dark inside. He saw the food untouched on the tray they have brought her. She was not eating. He did not like that. She did not look good either. She seemed tired and by the looks of her eyes, it looked like she had cried. A lot. The light of the torch that the man behind him held in his hand, was showing him the ugliness of his world through her mirror. He did not like her like that. She was looking like... she was in pain. He did not want that for her. And he was so tired, he did not feel he had the strength to make her feel any better. He grabbed the torch out of his man's hand and nodded to him to leave them. He obeyed, with a confused look on his face, but nevertheless, he left them alone and closed the door behind him. Kaion brought the torch closer to Moon and placed it in support on the wall right next to her, only upper. He took a sit right on the ground, close to her, so close that she had felt the warmth of his body. That felt nice, and made her raise her head as if she had just woken up from a slumber. Why was he here? The door was closed. What, did he want to feel what was like to be locked inside, like she was? -This is our Book of the laws, he stated, looking at her and showing her a book with leather covers, that he had in his hands. I thought it would help you understand this world better so I brought it for you to read. I have some time, if you want to read and need explanations about it. I am here. Moon looked at him, not answering. She was not in the mood to talk. The light was falling on his face, and he looked tired. But he thought about bringing her the book of their lows, to educate her. And presented himself available to explain the book to her, as if she was too stupid to understand the written words? What did he think she was like, any woman from his world? He was keeping her here, in this cell and here he thought she would enjoy his world all of a sudden when she would have understood their stupid laws? As if, she was going to live there by them, and obey them as her own? That was the thing, it was not her own!! Her home was not this and this will never become her home! For as long as she would leave, she promised herself, she will never cease to search for a way to go home! -You should eat, Kaion said, after he figured out she was not going to answer him. Was she that upset with him? He did not like her to be upset with him. Why, that was something he could not explain to himself, but her distress and sadness, he could almost feel them. She kept quiet still, so he took the tray and brought it closer. -This is not the way to survive here, starving... will not help you get into the king's favors and make him believe he can trust you out of this dungeon. If you want out, do as I say. I am not your enemy here, Princess. You are. She again looked at him. He was right. He could have been in his bed, embracing the silky materials and just have nice dreams, while not caring about a prisoner in the dungeons. Yet, he was here, with her. -I am not hungry, she spoke with a soft and weakened voice, when he tried to feed her the apple he took from the tray. -Fine. But, you know... the brain still needs resources, and it will never help you get out of here if you do not feed it... Kaion looked at her and bit the apple in front of her, chewing it with so much appetite, that her stomach started to act on its own and her brain punished her, making her feel the hunger that she could ignore for so long until this one came eating in front of her... He was eating that apple like it was the last apple on the planet and he was all alone. -Mmmm, so good... Moon could not believe it, could he be any crueler??? What was he trying to do? Make her eat? Why would he care if she would want to starve to death? what?? He was not even looking at her, he just opened the book he had in his hands and took another bite from that apple... HER apple, they brought it there and they put it there for her to eat it!! -Did you not have dinner today? -No... I mean I did, but apparently was not enough... -I thought you were the Crown Prince... Let me guess, they let you starve here? You don't look to weaken... -Yes, well, we do not waste any food here, so... want some? Kaion put the apple in front of her. But she retracted her head, clearly not happy that he was offering her the apple he had already bitten. OR, maybe... she did not like to be close to him? -Why are you here, Prince? She asked him, not even looking at the apple he was offering again to her. -What do you mean why? I told you! I brought you the book and I am making sure you don't waste the food... Our food, that you did not work for it, you know? If he ever imagined that he came here to make sure that she ate something, and then just threw this phrase in her face, thinking that she would eat, he was delusional now. Moon felt angry because of his words, she felt angry because of his soft and pleasant and annoying voice, and she felt angered that he was sitting close to her even!! She just got up from the ground and looked at him with contempt, heading towards another corner, the farthest possible from him to sit in. -Then good that you came to make sure it will be eaten by the one who deserves it and worked for it then! Oh, by the gods, what can he do to please this woman and make her eat? Did she not feel the hunger enough to eat now? She had not eaten for two days now, and she was getting weak, look at her almost falling down to the ground, pretending she was fine!! Was she stupidly trying to kill herself?? Could she not see he was trying to help her here? Did she want to end up here, in this dungeon, dead?? He left out a heavy sigh and nodded his head in denial. She was a stupid female, how could she understand the reason? They can not think for themselves, so what could he expect from her? Kaion felt even more tired, and he felt hopeless. -Fine, do as you wish then. I hope you get what you want then because I will head to sleep. "Do we get what we want, or do we get what we need?" Moon looked at him, tired as well, and feeling weakened and alone all of a sudden. He did not even look her way again and left the cell she was in. The guards made sure to lock the door behind him. Kaion was disappointed, he thought she could be reasonable, he thought she was smarter than that. But she was not. She did not know what was good for her, and how could she, she was only a female. Females don't know anything. His father was right, this one needed a man to discipline her.
