“How do you plead to the charges of assault and battery?”
Jason looked at the judge and then at his attorney. He wore his best suit to the courtroom and tried to compose himself even though he felt like his life was over. He had not slept more than three hours per night since his arrest.
One bad decision and my life is over, Jason thought.
“How do you plead, Dr. White?”
“Your honor, we have reached an agreement with the district attorney.”
“Is that true, Assistant District Attorney?”
“Yes, your honor. The DA’s office is satisfied with the terms.”
