I woke to the best sleep I had in years. It was dreamless but peaceful. I didn’t stir once. I don’t know how long it’s been since I last slept this well. For so many years, I have learned to go without sleep or at most close my eyes for only minutes at a time. It was essential for my survival in the castle to learn to rest with both eyes open. As secure as it looked, it wasn't safe for someone who everyone hated. It was refreshing to wake up from a full eight hour sleep and despite Anna’s earth shattering snores coming from the other room, it seemed to be the reason why I slept so well in the first place.
