A Run In

DAVINA POV We moved quickly. Luckily, there was a house for sale close to my brother's house. It was three stories, a basement, the main level, and upstairs. We weren't sure what we would do with all the extra rooms, but we'd figure it out. The whole house was neutral colors that complimented the natural light that came in the windows. The floors were a light grey wood, and the walls and ceilings were white. The kitchen appliances were black stainless steel, with light grey cabinets with black counter tops. The theme followed throughout the house. Xavier was enjoying the proximity to his uncle, the feel of the town, and he was loving school. Hadley had been working hard, and so had I. I got a job at the bar close to the airport, and coincidentally, the main place where my fights were hosted was the underground level of the same bar. We had been in the area about six months when keeping my presence hidden began to fall apart. Dane knew we were here and where we were living, and so did Hadley's parents. They had all promised to not let Levi know we were back, nor about Xavier. It's a busy night, lots of people in and out because of long layovers, but also it's Friday night. I have a fight in about an hour and a half. Ivy and Tyler, my coworkers l, promised they could handle the work after I left for my fight. I'm currently helping one of the regulars, Gama, from the southern part of Chile. I had spent some time down there on a dig site and had picked up on the language and the phrases, which I think helped keep him coming. He had someone whom he could talk to in his native language who would understand the sayings. His wife, Teresa, would normally come in with him, but she had to work late tonight. I got him his drink and then headed over to one of my other tables. The loud group was getting close to being cut off and having a ride called for them. They were visiting businessmen, and all four of them had each taken a shot at hitting on me. They were handsome, but I avoid relationships in order to protect my son. The group demands another round, which I let them know would be their last. I head back to mix their drinks when the door opens again, not an unusual thing, but I looked up and saw Levi. Following closely behind him are a few guys I recognize from a few pictures Dane had shown me, at the very end, was my brother. We make eye contact, and he shakes his head at me, telling me that he couldn't stop them from being here, and he'll explain later. I continue my work, hoping that I won't be noticed. The last half hour after they came in went by smoothly. I don't know if I was noticed or not, but I wasn't bothered, so I wouldn't stress too much about it. I say my good nights to Tyler and Ivy on my way out to my fight. After clocking out, I walk to the door since the entrance to the fighting area is a different entrance, I see Lillian walking in. I try to just walk past her, but she stops right in front of me, probably thinking I am still an easy target like I was all those years ago. "Well, look what the cat dragged in? I guess life turned out bad for you, considering you've come back to this little town." She laughs as she tosses her long, bleached hair over her shoulder. Her skin is perfectly tanned, but looking close enough, it was noticeable that it was fake. I go to walk around her when she grabs my arm quite tight. "I'm talking to you." She grits out through clenched teeth. "I'm sorry, do I know you?" I look at her pretending not to know who she is. She scoffs and rolls her eyes and pops one of her hips. "Nice try Davina. Your life must have turned out terrible to be back here. Meanwhile, I'm successful as a flight attendant, and I have Levi. Our relationship has progressed quite nicely. I'm sure he'll propose any day now." Of course Levi would choose her, for someone reason, despite all the years that have passed l, it hurt to know they were still together. "Good for you." I flash a small tight smile. "I'll be sure to stay away from the airline that lets pigs fly." Her jaw drops as she looks at me in disbelief. I pull my arm out of her hand and walk away with a smirk in my face. LEVI POV Dane has been acting weird for the last six months. I bet he has a girlfriend or something, but why won't he just tell me. He gets calls from someone he's happy to hear from, but keeps them secret, once a week he is "busy" and can't hang out. As I sit my office across from hi, I can see him through the glass as he smiles and talks on the phone very animated. My cell ring, and I see Lillian on my caller I. Thiss can only mean one thing I'm getting laid tonight. We make our plans, and I head to Dane's office to invite him. I knock on the doo, and he waves me in. I sit in the chair facing his desk. "So, Lillian will be passing through with a layove tonigh. Do you want to come grab drinks with us?" I know he can't stand her, but he likes alcohol too much. "Which bar?" He asks as he looks through a case file. "The one near the airport." His head shoots up from the papers he's been looking through. "Yeah, I'll come." What a strange reaction. The day went by slowly as I waited anxiously to go and get my needs met. Dane had invited a few guys from the office to join u, and I didn't mind one bit. We walk into the ba, and I scan the room looking for a table. I do a double take on one of the girls behind the bar. Her long brown hair in waves down her back, her blue eyes still dazzling, her perfect smile, her dimples showing as she smiles at some guy she's making a drunk for. I just stare, and then she walks to a table full of men and sets the drink down, then I take in the rest of her. Black skinny jeans that hug her legs and ass just right, the deeps red crap top showing off her slightly noticeable abs, and highlighting her perfect breasts. Davina, my Davina. I go to walk to her, when a hand grabs my shoulder and I hear Dane. "If she wanted us to know she was back, she would've told us. I think it's best to leave her alone for now." I just nod, not taking my eyes off the stunning woman moving around the room. After half an hour, I notice that Davina has left, making me a little sad. Before I could ask Dane any more questions, he claims not to have the answers to, Lillian comes and plops down next to me. "Dane, you should talk to the sister of yours about manners and being nice when someone talks to her." She huffs as she glares at him. He smirks a little before responding. I'm surprised he responds at all. He usually just ignores her. "What happened?" He leans forward with an amused look on his face. She begins to dramatically tell us about their conversation, and when she told us about the "pigs flying" comment, Dane lost it. He was laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes. I had spent years trying to get over Davina Williams. I still have to imagine it's her whenever I have s*x, I hope her being back won't be detrimental to my intimacy more than it was without her here.
