Alia shoots up, wide awake with the dread of the usual sleep paralysis press down of tiredsness.
Battling against the invisible chains that rooted her in place, the sound of the beat of her heart like thunder in her ears.
However, it turns out that this time was different.
There was some odd, living energy in the air, coming down on her, pressing on to her, almost stifling her.
"Lukan?" she croaked, her eyes scanning the black chamber wildly.
A soft, chuckling rasp answered her, and it brought a chill of fear into her body.
Your oh-so-powerful alpha will not be able to save you, little one.
Out of the shadows, a shape appeared, a colossal silhouette of strength and malice.
Alia's pulse kicked into overdrive as the weight on her body intensified, pinning her to the mattress with inexorable force.
Who are you?" Shaken but defiant, she snapped back. "What do you want?"
The shadow drew near and Alia finally caught a sight of the glowing amber eyes, bright as two balls of fire and a bit different from Lukan's amber eyes. “Alia, what I want is you.
She was ambushed by the smell of a man, virile and robust, tinged with spice enough to send her nerve endings tingling.
Alia struggled against the invisible chains, fear seizing her throat.
"Get off me!" With a snarl, she used all her will to summon her power, struggling–desperate to be free.
Yet the power she sought to exert felt squandered, as if resigning to the oppressive weight that coerced her will.
"Fiesty." The figure purred in amusement. "I can see why Lukan wants you as his mate."
Aila suddenly stilled. "What do you know about Lukan?"
The figure chuckled humorlessly. The sound sent a friction of unwanted heat down her spine.
"I know a lot of things little bird." The familiar word, the familiar tone. The voice she had heard 'little bird.' "Including about the bond you share."
"So it's you." Aila barely whispered, and she could see the way his lips turned up even in the dark.
And before she could demand an explanation, she felt the heat radiating off of him as he leaned in closer before settling his weight over her. A low whimper escaped her lips as his scent engulfed her, whirling round gee senses. Intoxicating.
"Do you really think, you belong to him?" The figure rumbles, his hot breath fanning the lobe of her ear.
"Wh...what do you mean?" She stuttered, causing him to smirk at how responsive she was to him.
"You belong to me little bird, not him." The figure stated. "You feel it don't you? A magnet that is unbroken."
Alia's breath caught in her throat as realization dawned, cold and merciless. "No... it can't be...I can't have two mates..."
"Oh but you don't sweetheart." He shifted and suddenly Aila felt herself pinned beneath the heat of his body. His large frame caged her petite figure with unexplained strength. And the heat radiating off him seeped through her dress, igniting a lustful tension below her belly.
"Mine." He growled, his baritone a guttural rasp that seny desire pooling in between her thighs. "You're bound to me."
Aila shook her head with disbelief, but her body betrayed her, every now and then arching into him to relieve a tension pooling between her legs.
"I don't know who you are." She whispered, her voice trembling with both fear and desire. "But I don't belong to you, and I never will."
He chuckled, the sound of it brushing asking her like a caress. "You'll learn little mate."
And just then his mouth claimed hers with a searing kiss that broke her facade.
Aila gasped against him, but couldn't resist the temptations of desire that she had for this mysterious man.
Her lips parted on a strangled moan as his tongue, plunged deeper into her mouth with ruthless possession and want.
She could have summoned every power in her to hurl this creature away from her. But he was too addictive, his scent overwhelmed her scenes and with his body molded to hers she found herself succumbing to the desire he had unleashed within her.
She slowly gripped unto the fabric on his shirt... clinging to him with a desperate need as he ravaged her lips.
"That's it little mate." He purred, his voice dark with a caress that send heat coiling through her core. "Give in sweetheart. To me, to us." He whispered.
Alia whimpered, her body trembling with want.
This was wrong, every instinct screamed at her. She belonged to Lukan only. And yet...this figure's lips flared the slender column of her throat. His hands explored the curves of her body and his possessive grip.
"No." She whispered trying to pull away from him.
He stiled, going rigid above her before a rumbling growl resonated from his powerful frame.
"You're going nowhere." He ground out, his tone laced with venom. "Mind, body, soul, you belong to me. Fight it all you want but you will succumb in the end."
She closed her eyes, unable to deny the bond between the both of them.
But Lukan...
"He can't give you I can." He whispered, as if reading the tormented thoughts that whirled through her mind. "He is but a pale imitation of a true mate."
Tears stung Alia's eyes as she clung to the memory of her alpha, her anchor in this madness.
"It's him I want not you." She rasped.
"Then you will learn what it means to defy me, little mate. And when I'm through with you, you'll beg for the oblivion of death before surrendering yourself to me, body and soul."
With those words hanging in the air, the weight pinning her down, vanished abruptly, as it had come. I jerked up from my sleep with a soft gasp, looking around the cave.
Her chamber was empty and the energy had dissipated like it never existed.
Trembling, Alia drew her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around herself as if to ward off the chill that had seeped into her very marrow.
And the scorching memory of that stranger's lips branding her flesh with his merciless claim.
"It was just a dream afterall." She tried to convince herself, until she raised her gaze.
Her eyes widened seeing a pair of amber eyes and a masculine figure standing behind a tree.
The same eyes that stared at her in this dream.
Within the blink of an eye, the figure was gone.
