Chapter Six: One Beat, Two Hearts

“Will you please move a little bit?” Alina nudged the man at his back with an irritated tone and a bad-tempered face. “I am at the nearest edge, miss. If I move more, the tent might rip and the night—that deadly night—might welcome us,” said Silver. She then felt that Silver irritatingly grabbed the comforter, then tucked it towards himself, leaving half of her body to be exposed by the cold winds. “Hey!” she shouted. She gave a scowling look towards Silver. However, her irritation grew larger as she saw that Silver is already closing his eyes, back turned towards her, and trying his best so that he could just go to sleep. She wanted to kick him hard. But she controlled herself. If she kicked the man, the tiny clothed tent that they were in, would have been broken if they displayed even the littlest bit amount of violence. Instead of kicking, she just hit Silver's exposed arm. As it made a slapping sound, Silver immediately jolted into sit, looking angrily at her, surprised because of the painful hitting. “What are you doing?!” he said with a scowl. “You were enjoying the comforter while I was exposed in the coldness!” Alina said. She then saw Silver sighing out of disbelief and frustration. He grabbed the comforter and then gave it all towards her. “Here! You can eat that!” Then, Silver went back to sleeping again. His body is curled, positioned like a fetus in a mother's womb. Alina smiled in triumph. She covered the comforter to her body willingly, and then went back into sleeping. The night outside were outrageous. Even though they were inside the tent, they could hear the howling wind, as if the storm is hitting the whole island. Alina could even hear voices of humans as if it was crying. As if it was the cry of the ghosts—or maybe the cry of the people who suffered misfortunate death on this island. Earlier, when the clown visited them, they immediately rushed to scan all the loots that they can from the S-class three-headed snake they fought. But ten minutes is not enough. As if the scanner is joining the jokes of the clown, one scanned items will need at least three seconds to load, before fully acquiring it. And while it was loading, the screen on their wrist cannot scan another item. In the end, they were unable to save all of the items that they should get. Had they known that the night is about to come, they should’ve not minded or made the even division of the loots as their biggest problems in their life. Adding another misfortune, out of everything—at least a hundred item—that they’ve looted, only one tent and one comforter can be found. Right now, it was what they are sharing unwillingly. They have no other choice but to spend the whole night in one tent and one comforter that will keep them safe and warm as the night release its rage to the island. Another problem, however, is that the tent is too small, too cramped. The comforter is only made for one person. The count of them, however, is two. Alina is small and petite, that's why she had no problems sharing a tent—only if Silver was small and petite too, which is not. And so they are trying their best to spend the night in the thrift of those small things that they only have. Alina fell asleep even though outside, the night is outrageously raging. She was too tired, too ill with the thought that they were spending their days, uncertain if they would live longer than they are expecting. However, in the middle of sleeping, she felt that Silver was moving—shaking. She immediately became alert as she thought that Silver was planning something. She immediately sat down to look at him, to see what he was doing, only to find out that Silver is still curling his body, like a fetus, while continuously shaking. When the comforter slip out of Alina's shoulder, a painful coldness started to stung her skin. It's too cold! She thought. She immediately looked at Silver. Still, he was shivering. He’s been tolerating the coldness while in the comfort of my sleep, she concluded, feeling guilty. “Silver.” As he touched the man, she felt how cold his skin was. “Silver you're too cold!” She then started panicking. She immediately grabbed the comforter and wrapped it around his body. The coldness, however, started to attack his own exposed skin. “K-Keep yourself warm.” She gently tapped Silver. She then saw how Silver slowly opened his eyes while still shaking from the coldness. “N-No,” said silver. “Y-You will be cold too.” “But you need it more than me.” Silver then, rose up and sat, trying to calm his shaking body. And then he wrapped Alina to the comforter—while he was inside of it too. Silver hugged Alina while the comforter perfectly wraps around their body. “Wh-What are you doing?” asked Alina. “Shh… let's keep it this way,” said Silver in a low, husky voice. Then, they both lie in the tiny built-in bed. Alina felt her face flushing in red. Silver's body was still cold. Yet, the warmth of the comforter gave her enough heat to suppress the coldness that she is feeling from Silver. It's enough for the cold, but not for her raging heart. Her heart pumped wildly. She never imagined that it could be so furious just as what is happening right now. She felt the big arms wrapping around her body, the well-toned chest under the cold cloth of his shirt, the abs—she felt how gorgeous was it built, the legs wrapping on her, the time to time tightening of his body as he felt cold, and his breath . . . tickling the top of her head. “Wh-Why are you doing this?” Alina asked. “I need more warmth,” Silver whispered in an incredibly sexy way. His voice husky, his breath continuously tickling her hair. “Is the comforter not enough to you? It has a built-in warming device that will adjust to the heat that your body is needing.” “But you need its warmth too.” “But—” “Shh . . . don't be too whiny, Alina. We both need warmth in our body. And we both need rest too. We must save our energy for tomorrow's suffering.” He was right. They both need the warmth. They both need to save energy for what will be happening tomorrow. They need to rest. “Rest, lady. I'll be letting you feel my sexy and well-toned body.” Silver huskily laughed as he told that joke. Alina hit him in the chest making her feel his hard muscles. “Shut up.” “Ow, you hit my sexy body.” Silver continued to joke. “You have one hell of an opportunity to feel me and this body that most women wanted to spend night with.” “Oh please, Silver. Just shut up.” At first, both were actually uncomfortable hugging each other. Both were trying to adjust to the fact that they were hugging each other. Silver was affected for he knew how beautiful the woman he's currently hugging. Life before being in this island, he spent almost everynight with different girls, kissing hard, having s*x. And he can't deny the fact that he was aroused. Yet he felt it was so wrong. That if he tried touching Alina, it would be a wrong choice. That it would be a s****l abuse. That he would be a s*x maniac who would devour this beautiful woman; who would insult this respectable woman who were just thinking on how to survive, how to escape the pandemonium of this island. He then realized that he wanted to protect her. He wanted to protect Alina. That was stupid, but he knew he is buying that thought.
