Osiris...the eldest

1366 Words
Osiris POV- I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to go take a walk. My mind is all over the place. My brothers and I are about to turn 25 years old, and we haven’t found our fated mate. We’ve all had girlfriends, but never anything real long term. As triplets, since we are the same, we know we will only have one fated mate. We’ve known this since we were very young. My father refuses to relinquish the Alpha role until we are mated. “All great, strong, and prosperous, Alphas and packs need a Luna.”… blah, blah, blah. I mean, I get it, but seriously. Our father made a deal with us two years ago. If we didn’t cross paths with our fated mate, we would take a contract Luna. The catch is, we had to AGREE, on who our contract Luna would be. Even though we are identical triplets, we are three versions of the same person. We share a physical appearance with some differences. We think alike, sometimes, but that’s where it stops. I’m a thinker and a planner. I like to plan my day in advance. I don’t like surprises. My name, Osiris (eldest triplet), is a name of Egyptian origin, meaning “God of the afterlife, fertility, and resurrection”. My name fits me; my brothers call me the “Alpha of us All”. Next, or in the middle, you have my brother Evander, a name of Greek origin meaning “strong, good man or warrior.” Again, this name is a great fit for Evander. He is strong, and he is a good man. He’s a peacemaker, quiet, always thinking of others. Lastly, there is Andrew. Oh, Andrew. Name of Greek origin, as well. Meaning: “Manly, courageous warrior” and he is every bit the warrior. He is the strongest in our pack by far. He’s also a hot-head and has some anger issues. Some women are attracted to that. Our personalities and what we want in a Luna differ immensely. I want a Luna who will be involved in pack politics, hold banquets, be a leader in her own right, but have her own identity. Evander wants a Luna who will be involved in training, help in the hospital, be involved in the pack but not the pack politics. Andrew wants a trophy, Luna; he doesn’t want his Luna doing anything but catering to him, shopping, and having pups. For me, it’s another night walking around the pack I will once rule, hoping that the cool night air will bring me answers, and it’s another night I find myself drawn to her little warrior cottage. Tonight, however, I saw her bedroom light turn on. I walk around to the front of her home and notice that the porch light isn’t on. That isn’t very safe. I make my way to the warrior cottage courtyard, and I sit on a bench that gives me full view of her front steps, front door, and driveway. I see the upstairs light turn off and her kitchen window light up. She must be getting ready to go out again. The kitchen window goes dark, and something pulls me to her driveway. I walk over to the side of her driveway, next to the front porch, just as she exiting her home and locking her door. She turns around and sees me. “AWWW! Osiris, what the hell? You scared the s**t outta me. Why are you here? Why are you standing in the shadows of my front porch? What the hell?” “You said that already.” “Ok, what the hell? Saying I said that already isn’t an answer, and that was creepy.” “Sorry, my fault. You couldn’t sense me at all?” “No. I’m half-human and don’t have a wolf, you know this.” I wasn’t trying to scare her. I just felt a need to talk to her. I can’t explain it to her, or to myself. Next Evander pops up, and Andrew also. What are they doing here? I’ll get to the bottom of that later. As the four of us are standing there in her driveway laughing, I realize how beautiful she is. Alsie is perfect. She is 5’4” tall, has teal-colored eyes that could look right through you, long, waist-length, dark red, curly hair with gold highlights sprinkled throughout. Her skin is as soft and smooth as whipped butter; it is the color of a creamy iced coffee. Her body… WOW! She is a size 8 in all the right places; a nice little bubble-butt, thick thighs, and toned legs. Her breasts are plump, perky, and full. She’s smart, she was valedictorian of Far-Side high, she’s funny and quick-witted. Ugh… what the hell is wrong with me? I’ve known this woman all my life and for 7 years we lived and grew up in the same house. We played together as young pups; we had pack meals together. Her father was my father’s Beta. When her parents died, she lived with us. She doesn’t have a wolf because she is a human hybrid; there is no mate bond. What is going on? She starts to walk to her car, and I walk with her. She opens her car door, and something comes over me. I can’t control it. I reach out, I just need to touch her. I touch her shoulder, she turns around, I grab her, kiss her. She doesn’t stop me. She doesn’t pull away. I keep my lips pressed on hers and kiss her a little more deeply. I feel her inhale and lean into me. She starts kissing me back. Does she want this too? What is going on? Her scent, that smell of cinnamon and vanilla, like a snickerdoodle cookie, is intoxicating. I never realized how good she smelled. I stop kissing her, but I don’t break contact with her. My lips are still on hers and she is pressed up against my chest. I put my arms around her and bring her closer to me. I don’t want to let her go. She starts to say something against my lips. “Ummm, I have to go to work.” The words come out of her mouth quietly and breathlessly while her lips are still pressed to mine. “OK.” is all I can manage to say. I don’t want to move; I don’t want to let go of her. “Have a good day at work, be safe,” I say, as I let go of her and step back, so she can get in her car. “OK, you too.” I watch her get in her car, start it up, turn on the headlights. “My guy! What the hell was that? Oh, please tell me she tasted as good as she smells?” “Andrew, stop.” Evander says flatly. “No! I can’t believe he kissed her Evander. He just kissed Alsie, little Alsie. The wolf-less girl who grew up in our house. The one he said he could never like because she was part human and didn’t have a wolf… ewww gross. He’s creeping around outside her house, and he kisses her. But, seriously big bro, please tell me she tasted like cookies. You know what, don’t tell me. I’m going to kiss her too and find out all by myself.” “Andrew, do you hear yourself? You sound like a 5-year-old. Osiris, please tell us what just happened?” “For the record, I wasn’t “creeping” around her house any more than the two of you were. Wait, why are you two here? Never mind. I just told a homicide detective to have a good day.” I sighed and shook my head. “Yea, you did.” Laughed Evander. I look over at Andrew, and he’s fuming mad. He’s pacing up and down the driveway we’re standing in. I have no idea what just came over me, but I also have no idea why Andrew is acting so weird. It’s almost like I kissed his mate or something.
