Chapter twenty.
Their visit to the police station left Mrs Howard feeling gloomy. She wondered if there was something to worry about in the questions being asked by the inspector.
"What if she was in some sort of trouble and I had no idea? Could it be her life was being threatened and she's been kidn*pped?" She thought to herself as she walked down the street with Alexa, side by side.
"Hey watch out!" Alexa yelled, pulling her away from a puddle in front.
"Watch where you're going girl" she queried. They halt at a spot.
"I'm sorry" Mrs Howard apologized.
