Don't look back !!!

Nate Pt1

Three weeks! Three bloody weeks. Ugh. I don't know how my father can be so calm. I'm currently sitting in a room stuffed with sweaty alphas from various packs. We are discussing the movements of a pack of rouges. They have been circling the boarder of our united packs for months now. We managed to capture one of them and torture them into telling us who their leader is.

Turns out he's some big shot human that came from a werewolf family. Ugh humans. Always got to stick their noses into our business. We sent some of our best guys to tail him but found out three days ago that he hasn't been home and then yesterday we got a message telling us that we should see IT. I don't know what IT is, but I don't like the feeling I get from hearing those words.

Honestly, I'm bored by the meeting. All the other alphas are pretty stupid, but luckily my dad is levelheaded. I have no doubt in my mind that it would all fall apart if he wasn't here. That's why I'm secretly nervous about taking over from him.

Pulled out of my trance I see my dad being oddly silent. I nudge him slightly and that seems to wake him up to all the arguing. He holds up his hand which instantly makes all the other alphas stay silent. My dad's word is law around here. He's the top dog.

Clearing his throat his speaks. 'I know many of you are nervous about the rouge situation' all nodded in agreement. 'But fear not I have decided to send a group of people out there to assess the situation' I stared at him intensely I was practically praying to the moon goddess herself. 'And among these people will be my son Nathaniel' A huge gin took over my face it was nearly impossible to hold myself together and not jump for joy.

After the meeting my father took me to his office and explained that he wanted me to learn the ropes before I took over as alpha properly at 21. I'm already second alpha because I am 18 and if god forbid anything happened to my dad, I would replace him instead of my mother.

After leaving his office I skipped to my room. I know it's not very manly but I'm so ecstatic I haven't been on any kind of mission in over 4 months. Packing wasn't very hard I just took some weapons and an extra pair of clothes just in case I needed to shift suddenly.

I slowly had to creep past Sophie's room. Sophie's the pack slut. There's always one. Don't get me wrong she's smart I once even considered her for Luna, but then she stared sleeping with anything that breaths to that quickly changed my mind. She's always wanted to be Luna. She advances on me ant chance she gets. It's honestly annoying.

The car ride was tense. No one knew what we might be facing. When we arrived, we met with my dad's beta Mark. It was weird to see him in this state. He looked annoyed and angry. I've only ever known him as fun uncle mark, so I was taken back at first.

Walking up to the royal building was strange. It seemed to quiet but mark soon explained that they paid some vampires to compel everyone to forget work today. It took way too long to get up to floor 50. I could smell the metallic sent of blood as soon as we reached our destination. It hit me like a slap to the face. I gulped and looked at mark. I could see in his eyes that I wasn't going to be happy about what comes next.

I hesitantly opened the door and was shocked at what I saw. Right in the middle of the back wall was tony royal the human we were watching strung in an x shape, with a big black bruise across his neck and blood pooling out of his shirt. I couldn't look for long. I was angry yes but also slightly impressed whoever did this was good. It had taken us weeks to find him and even then, killing him was harder.

Mark nudged me and told me to look behind him. So reluctantly I did. And surely enough in red lipstick were the words. Little boys shouldn't play with knives.

It didn't take a genius to figure out who did this. The only person who could strike fear even in the darkest of souls.
