“Should we panic?” Andrew Kenny, Chief of Staff, asked Lawrence Hackett.
“No need to yet, Andrew,” Lawrence answered, “I have the best security money can buy.”
“And money buys loyalty,” Andrew agreed. “So, what about Daniel?”
“I’m sending Daniel two of our best: Colby and Westwood. There’s a lot at stake and I’m not spending time in any prison, anywhere.”
“We’ve still got fall guys set up to do that,” Andrew assured him. “There is always someone prepared to go to jail for enough money to ensure their family’s long-term financial security. We can buy our way out of almost any charges, as long as the evidence isn’t watertight.”
“And if there is no one around to give evidence …” Lawrence smiled.
Daniel kept his eyes closed and stewed over the Aurum project.
