Satisfaction
Brian opened the door after the third knock. He started when he saw me standing there. I suppose I couldn’t blame him for the surprise. After all the noise I’d made about getting what I wanted, I was right here at the end of the night. I moved closer and my stomach churned when I saw his eyes were red. I had done that to him. Me and this shallow obsession with s*x.
“I’m sorry,” I said.
He didn’t ask what I was sorry for. Brian moved to let me into his apartment and closed the door behind me. He hadn’t been home long enough to change clothes, but his jacket had been tossed across the back of his sofa and his shoes had been left near the door. He was looking down at his bare feet when I pulled him into a hug.
“I shouldn’t have let you do that,” I whispered into his ear.
