Friday:
There's a knock at the door I open it. Sam and Dani show up.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey" they reply.
"Sorry, I'm a mess I was helping my dad cook" I smelt of garlic and onions.
"We can tell" Sam laughs. I flip him off.
"Jo, your dad says you don't have to help anymore" my uncle Nathan says.
"Great thanks," I said. "That's my uncle Nathan. Nathan this is Sam and his sister Dani, I'm going to change now have fun" I say and head upstairs.
I put on my ripped jean shorts and a green longer tube top thing. I fill in my eyebrows and that's all. I head downstairs with my phone. They weren't in the living room so I went to the kitchen. Dani was sitting there with Austin who randomly appeared talking. While Sam was leaning against the counter arms crossed talking to my dad and Nathan.
"Hey guys, why is Sam being a total dad?" I question.
"I don't know. But Dani I'm obsessed with you" Austin says she laughs. "Yeah he is being a daddy" Austin smirks I laugh.
"Ew no," she says. "Although your dad is alright," she tells me.
"See!!" Austin squeals.
"No stop. I don't want to hear it" I groan.
"I mean come on though, probably why you're pretty," she tells me.
"f**k off" I mutter she laughs.
"So what are we talking about?" Caleb randomly shows up. "And who are you?" He questions Dani.
"Why are you so close me to first of all. Secondly, that's Sam's sister" I reply.
"Oh hey I'm Caleb" he puts his hand out.
"Dani" she smiles politely.
"He's a freak. You don't need to be nice" I shrug he rolls his eyes.
"Don't listen to her she's jealous" he said.
"Mmkay, whatever floats your boat Caleb" I shake my head. "Is Kyle coming?"
"Yeah. Later I think" he nods. "How about your boyfriend?" He questions.
"At 7" I respond.
"I'm excited for that" he smirks.
"Of course you are. Because you're an asshat" I say.
"Thank you" he grins.
"Ok! Sam out of the dad talk into the living room where you actually should be with us jeez," I say. We all go into the living room.
"That was some dad s**t right there," I say.
"I take that as a compliment Jo, so thanks a lot" he sticks his tongue out.
"You're welcome" I roll my eyes. We sit on the couch I set up the gaming consul so we can play. I pass Sam the controller.
"So we've got a whole number of 3 daddies in the house," Austin says.
"Who?" Caleb and Dani ask.
"Mason obviously, Nathan obviously and Sam" Austin replied I roll my eyes.
"Wow! What about me?" Caleb asks.
"Yeah, you've got a face that's not bad to look at. But you're annoying as f**k" Austin replies and Sam laughs as we start our game. "See this is why I need Stella to agree with me on everything."
"Sorry she's sick and you two can't be sick bitches together" I respond hitting the controller buttons. "Also there's Dani."
"Yeah but she's not gonna call her brother a daddy" Austin shakes his head.
"Yeah Exactly, it's not the most comforting," she says.
"Oh, okay" I roll my eyes.
"Sorry you're jealous that I'm hotter Dani," Sam says.
"Wow!" She says.
"Yeah, Wow Dude" I add-in. "It's different. Some people have different preferences. Girls or guys. Or both. So shut it" I tell him.
"Pick a side, Jo," he says.
"No sides to pick," I said.
"I beg to differ" he scoffs.
"Leave it alone Sam. Your own friend likes me better" Dani says.
"This is getting out of hand people. I know I'm cool!" I state.
"f**k off" Sam laughs.
"You're so obsessed with me."
"Yeah, you wish."
"f**k!" I yell as I lose to Sam once again.
"Hey! Language Jo" my dad walks in.
"Dad it's fine. We're all 16 or older" I wave him off. "Also when's dinner done?"
"Not for a little while," he tells me. "When's your boyfriend coming?"
"7" I respond.
"I'm expecting him," he tells me.
"Yeah, he'll be here" I mutter. "I'm done with this game. You guys can play" I drop my controller.
"Scared you're gonna lose again?" Sam smirks.
"No assface" I get up. "I'm just sick of you" I add.
"That one hurt me a little" he puts a hand on his chest.
"I'm glad" I reply. "Anyone want anything to drink?" I asked.
"Yeah, could you get me a glass of...." Sam turns and then flips me off.
"Oh f**k you? Wanna glass of that? I would gladly get that for you" I say smiling and flipping him off back.
"Thanks, Jo. You're the best" he smiles back. I got to the kitchen and I grab everyone a coke cause no one answered.
"Jo... so your friend Sam? That's not the one you're with?" Uncle Nathan comes up to me.
"Nope. Just a friend" I shake my head.
"He's a good boy," he tells me.
"Yeah. He's a suckle up" I laugh. "He can be a real annoying asshole."
"So when's the real boyfriend coming?" He asks.
"At 7" I sigh.
"Good. Can't wait to meet him" he pats me.
"Yeah, I cant either" I mutter he laughs. "I'm going back, have fun with the oldies."
"Hey we're not that old" he scoffs. "Remember your mom had you young. So that makes us young too" he states.
"Cool," I nod and leave he laughs again.
"Here. Because I'm a good friend" I throw one at Sam's Crotch area.
"Owww" He groans.
"Need help," Austin says and I laugh. I hand the rest out.
"I'm good thanks to the very good friend Jo," he says.
"You're very welcome" I smile sitting back down. "Now let's all talk about shit."
~
I hear a knock at the door. Kyle was already here. And I think it was Dylan. Oh f*****g lord. I get up and open the door. And he was there.
"Hey," I said. He smiles.
"Hey!" He kisses me lightly.
"Come in" I open the door wider he comes in.
"Dylan!" Austin smiles. "What's up?"
"Hey, Austin. Nothing much" he shakes his head. Sam wasn't there anymore.
"We might want to get to my dad right away. So it's better and faster" I laugh he nods with a small chuckle. It was too quick for this. It made me uncomfortable. But it's too late now.
We walk into the kitchen, Sam was talking to my dad nodding.
"No I think it's fine," he says. What? I clear my throat.
"Dad," I said. He looks over here and his face morphs into seriousness. Oh lord. "Dad, this is Dylan," I said.
"Right" he wipes his hands. Dylan was looking at Sam with a look I didn't get. "Hi, I'm Mason. Jo's dad" my dad says.
"Hi" Dylan looks over to my dad and smiles. They shake hands.
"So let's talk" my dad pats him he nods scratching the back of his head. He glances at me I shrug. They head outside.
"What are you doing?" I asked Sam.
"Your dad needed my expertise" he shrugs. "So he went straight to it didn't he?" He asks.
"Yeah, he did. With who knows what" I mutter. "I want to drown."
"You'll be fine" he shrugs. "Or he'll be fine."
"Yeah I'm sure" I nod. "Hopefully" I sing-song. "Let's get back over there."
We went back to the living room.
"How's it going?" Austin asks.
"I don't know. He took him to talk" I shrug. I plop down on the couch.
"Ooh" he shakes his head.
"Shut up" I sigh.
"Hey, at least he's hot!" Dani smiles. "And plus you don't know yet."
"Yeah, he's a fricken charmed for sure" Austin nods. "A hot ass charmer."
"I doubt his charm will work its way past your dad though," Caleb says.
"Thanks for the hope," I say. "Now let's change the topic."
And we did. And then Dylan came back like 30 minutes later or I could say more.
"So what happened?" Austin asks.
"Austin shut it," I said Dylan laughs.
"No it's okay, it was fine" he replies. He puts his hand on my leg. "I honestly don't know if he likes me. It was hard to read" he chuckles nervously.
"You're probably fine" I look to my side to Sam he shrugs.
"Go," I tell him.
"Wow, what did I do?" He questions I laugh.
"No go talk and figure s**t out for me please," I say. He sighs.
"You're welcome for being such a great person" he gets up.
"Thanks" I smile. "Also get me a drink on the way back please" I add.
"Yeah okay," He waves me off and leaves.
"Where's he going?" Caleb asks.
"To do something for me" I shrug. Dylan removes his hand putting it on his lap. He's being quiet.
"You sure you're okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah I'm good" he nods. "Just wondering what your dad thinks of me."
"Don't worry" I laugh. "We good."
He laughs.
"Dinners done," Sam pops into view.
"So did you talk to Lila yet?" I asked him as we all stood to go eat the barbecue.
"A little. Not too much" he shrugs. "She's nice."
"Yeah that's Caleb's mom" I reply.
"She said she was your aunt" he laughs.
"Well. Just cause she and my mom were best friends it's pretty much like that" I laugh back.
We all make it outside Sam was talking to my dad like I asked. Nathan, Luke and Lila were talking. Lila sees me her eyes widen.
"Jo!!" She hops up and runs over here. "Dylan" she smiles. "Just give us a little bit sweetie" she pats him h Enid's and leaves talking to Caleb.
"So?" I laugh.
"He's charming" She smiles.
"Mm ya," I nod.
"There's one thing" her smile lowers.
"What?" I asked.
"He's not your type," she tells me.
"Oh" is all I say.
"Like maybe. But he seems almost a little more jockey than you prefer. Look at who you hang out with. The skaters pretty much" she laughs. "But as long as you like him and he's treating you good. He's a cutie as well."
"Skaters" I laugh.
"Well, Sam skates" she shrugs. I didn't know. "And you're just that type" she laughs.
"Let me eat," I tell her laughing.
"Okay sorry have fun," she smiles and leaves. I get food and sit between Sam and Dylan.
"You skate?" I asked Sam when I sat.
"Yeah" he nods in an obvious way.
"Why don't I know this?" I asked.
"Cause you don't pay enough attention" he takes a bite out of his food.
"Or you just haven't told me. You told Lila" I state.
"We were talking about s**t" he shrugs. "I swear I've skated in front of you" He adds.
"I don't think so" I shake my head. "You better teach me I've always wanted to know."
"Sure" he nods. I turn to Dylan.
"Lila likes you," I said. I think. She seemed wary about it. But I'm sure she likes him.
"Great" he smiles. "But aren't I supposed to get your dad's approval?" He takes a bite out of his food.
"Yeah but that's something. She's important in my life" I shrug eating my food.
"What about my approval?" Austin scoffs.
"You approve of anything with a d**k" I state.
"Jo how many times do I have to tell you," my dad says giving me a look.
"Hey! This is two different convos. The teenagers, that are obviously gonna swear. And the parents. That whatever" I say.
"You can swear. Just don't be so... s****l" he shakes his head.
"Calm down Mason. She's a teenager let her do what she wants, not like you weren't... ya know" Lila says I laugh. "I mean you did have a kid at 19 may I add, so I'm sure she can be s****l" she adds.
"Wow," my dad says.
"Thanks, Lila" I smile.
"Of course" she smiles back.
"But it's all about manners" Sam butts in. I turn to him with squinted eyes.
"Of course you would" I mutter.
"No one just tells our d**k in the middle of the dinner table, common sense Jo. Simply just manners" he says.
"Huh, manners" I respond he nods. "Okay," I nod.
"Sam... why you always gotta egg her on you know Jo" Austin shakes his head.
"Nah" I shake my head. "He's just an asshole" I shrug. "How's that for manners you suckle up b***h" I said. He's got that smirk on his face when he knows he's getting me worked up.
"Wow aggressive" he chuckles.
"I mean, there are so many things I hate about you," I said.
"Ouch," he says gaming a bite out of bread. "Everyone here knows that's not true."
"Hah, alright," I say. "Anyways. Nathan, did you know Dylan plays basketball" I change the subject. Sam was being an annoying taint.
So the subject with Dylan and Nathan go in from there.
"Asshole," I say I'm a low voice.
"It's my thing baby" he smirks. My lips part. What was that? I look around. Wow.
~
"I'm gonna get going," Dylan tells me. "It was nice meeting your family" he chuckles.
"Yeah, I'll see you," I say he kisses me quickly.
"Yeah I'll text you" he nods. I walk him out and shut the door behind him. I turn, Sam, Dani, Caleb and Austin were still here.
"Gotta get going too" Caleb gets up. "It was great meeting your parents" He smoulders nicking Dylan.
"f**k off, I think I hear your mom calling you to go," I say he rolls his eyes and I stick my tongue out to him and he heads out. I sit down with a sigh.
"Who wants ice cream?" I asked. "Cause I do and let's go" I stand back up.
"Yeah, same let's go" Austin gets up pulling me along.
Everyone else joins and we all pile into Sam's car.
"So, now that my own best friend ditched me for Daniel what's up Sam" I look at him while he drives.
"I understand, I'm second best" he shrugs I laugh.
"Shut up," I say.
"So, Dylan," he says. "He seemed a little weird, he was giving me looks."
"Yeah, he was being weird. I don't know, giving you looks?" I reply.
"Yeah like he hates my guts" he laughs. "But who would Right?"
"Yeah" I laugh. "Weird."
"Probably just nervous" he assures.
"Whatever" I shrug. "I just want my ice cream."
He laughs and nods.
