"So what did you say to Lisa?" Peyton asked me casually. Or at least he was trying to come across that way.
"Whatever do you mean?" I asked him with wide eyes, blinking innocently and faking my indignation.
Peyton laughed. "You're an appalling actress, Miss Cooper."
Awww. He knew my surname.
I decided not to tell Peyton about the weird vibes that Vae and I got from Lisa. She seemed very interested in my future here at Amethyst Moon, and I wasn't sure what to do with that. I filed the information away in my brain under 'to be dealt with later'.
"After you headed into the doctor's office she dismissed me out of hand, as if I was nothing. I didn't care much for her attitude and Vae positively despised it. So we had a little word in her ear."
