Peyton's Point of View
Finn's team arrived back to the territory first, just as I had predicted. Raya's team followed around half an hour afterwards, but Raya wasn't with them.
Each member of Raya's squad entered with their heads bowed. I got the feeling no one wanted to deliver the news that she had disobeyed a direct order. Eventually, I caught the eye of my most experienced Tracker, Jack.
"She's not too far behind us chief." He excused her absence as best as he could. "She just wasn't ready to give up."
I nodded once, but didn't respond. I wasn't in the mood for chit-chat.
Jack, who seemed to have completely overlooked the fact that I had no intention of having a conversation, carried on regardless.
"To be honest, we've not caught even the slightest whiff of either of them."
