Crying hard as she was running she honestly wasn’t sure where she was going until she tripped and fell on a rock, she looked up and saw that she was back at the creekside just a little farther down then she normally goes. Hearing footsteps she was scared that Josh had followed her so she looked around and hid behind a tree real fast, hoping that would hide her from him. But when she peeked around the tree she saw that it was her two best friends, Caleb and Rose, they both looked upset. Caleb looked up and was about to yell her name but Rose stopped him and smiled “ I can smell her she is close “ she touched the tip of her nose and pointed in the direction that Jai was standing at. Jai stepped around the tree and placed her hands on her hips “ How in the hell can you smell me Rose?” she shouted 

Rose just shrugged and stated “ i have a good sense of smell, while Caleb here can find just about anything and anyone with just closing his eyes and thinkiof that place or person” she smiled huge towards Jai “ I am so happy you finally know now what we are so we don’t have to keep any secrets anymore”  Jai looked over at Caleb and saw he was very upset. So she walked up towards him and asked “ what’s wrong? You look like someone stole something that belongs to you.” she chuckled as she wiped away her eyes, she was happy it was Caleb and Rose that went after and not Josh, she still can’t believe she is betrothed to someone she never met or that her father could do this to her .. 

Caleb looked over at her and smiled though she could tell it was a fake smile she didn't say anything " I am fine Jai, I'm just worried about you, how are you?" He asked. Jai took a deep breath before speaking, " I honestly don't know what to feel or if I should be angry or sad. Hell I just found out I was betrothed to your brother. " she looked at both of them " Did you guys know this?" She asked. Both shook their heads.

Rose spoke softly " Our dad was talking to mother about Josh getting married soon, we just didn't know it was you they were talking about." Jai closed her eyes as she was about to ask something else she heard a branch snap, jerking her head up,  she saw it was her older brother. "What do you want?" she snapped. 

Her brother just smiled " Father wants you home now" she shook her head " I'll go home when I'm ready" she snapped at him.

He laughed out loud causing everyone to jump and stare at him, before he reached down and jerked her up by her arms. She gasped as he squeezed her arm tight. "Father said now" he started pulling her towards the plantation when Caleb stood up to push him away from her. 

John just stopped and looked at him "I wouldn't if I was you, or Father will stop this wedding in a heartbeat then where will your family be" .. Jai looked between them and spoke " What is he talking about? What does me marrying your brother have to do with anything?" Caleb just shook his head and stepped back.

"That's what I thought!." With that he tightened his grip and pulled her back to the plantation. Once they got there everyone else was already gone, so John pulled her to her Father’s office and tossed her in there on her knees. John just stood back where she could run and looked down at her with a smirk on his face. She looked up at him before her Father and went to try and get up on her feet. Her Father spoke just then “ DON”T” he snapped, so Jai just sat there on her knees and watched as her father was doing something, what she didn’t know. 

 Finally her Father sat back and looked at her “ Why did you run today?” he would ask in a calm matter, and she knew he was anything but calm.. She took a deep breath and spoke “ because Father it was a surprise, I did not know that I was gonna be married, I am not even eighteen yet and i still got a couple of months til I graduate, what about college, you-” “ shut up” John snapped and popped her on her head. She zipped her mouth and just looked at her Father , surely he wouldn’t let John get away with it. 

But no her Father just laughed, he actually laughed at what John did to her “ there will be no college and the only reason your getting to graduate is because Josh wishes it” 

But why have you just now told me about this?” she would ask softly afraid to be hit once again.. 

Because” her Father simply said, he then looked up at John “ get her to her room and lock her in there”
