CHAPTER 5 SO CLOSE

Alexis's POV

The next morning I wake up, as usual, prepare myself, and head to work. Unfortunately, when I arrive Mr. Felix isn't there. I wanted to see him so I can boost my mood. So I can stay happy all day long. Really disappointing. I go to the kitchen completely out of it. One would think that I am sick or something.

“ Alex are you okay?" Patrick asks in a concerned tone.

“ You look sick Alex" Viggy adds.

“ I'm okay guys I just didn't have enough sleep last night" I lie.

why are you turning me into a liar Felix?

“Alright if you insist" Patrick answers defeated.

I take a very light breakfast because. I seem to have lost my appetite. Since it's still early I figure that he will come soon. We always start work at 6:30 in the morning. That is when our regulars begin coming in for breakfast. 

By that time Patrick and his team are always ready to serve the first customer. I wonder how early they arrive at work. I've always loved to become a chef, the problem is that it requires sacrifice and discipline.I see our first regular customer, Mr.John, Since I started working I have seen him here each day. He is always very chatty and we seem to get along really well.

“ Mr. John what are you having today," I ask him .

“ As always my pretty Alex," He says winking at me. His usual is just black coffee with toasted bread and sliced watermelon.I ran to the order window and wait for the order to be prepared. It takes less than five minutes.

“Enjoy Mr. John excuse me," I say politely bowing slightly as a sign of respect.

“keep me company as I eat pretty" I guess he is flirting with me, but his game is down.

He doesn't know I only have eyes for Felix. Plus he is not my type, he is short with a big protruding tummy, he always has his trousers above his waist, and he wears big glasses. Since he is my customer I oblige, but I choose to stand.

Henry has a great sense of humor he makes me laugh so much that I forget all my problems. All of a sudden another waitress comes to tell me that Felix needs me in his office. Apparently, he was watching us as I was talking to Mr. Henry. I’m just overjoyed and I go to his office practically running. I don't even give Mr. John a goodbye.

“ Mr. Felix you called for me” I’m just awed by the sight of the man in front of me I can’t help but admire his abs, he is just wearing a t-shirt which is very tight that I could see his muscles, and the chest, wow I can just imagine myself lying on top of it feeling his heartbeat. 

When I'm near him I always lose my breath. I feel like I cannot breathe and I think he knows what effect he has on me because I think I always see a faint smile creeping his lips, but it can also be my imagination. I find his office door open so I just get in.

“Sir you called for me"

“Yes Alex, could you go over to my house and pick up my laptop for me please, Alex … Alex I'm talking to you”

He calls for me and his voice brings me back from my daydreaming. I’m just wondering what this man has done to me I cannot help but wonder.

“Sir you were saying,” I ask embarrassed

“Are you okay Alex you seem disturbed since morning, is everything okay with you, don’t you like it here, or you miss home”

It’s you, Felix who is doing this to me, I want you so bad I cannot help it, I just wish you knew

“No sir I’m perfectly fine I’m just having a headache that’s all” I lie and feel very guilty about it.

He gives me his keys and his address so I go to pick his laptop, his apartment isn’t far from here so I walk there. He tells me to be quick he has a lot of work to do. The apartment is not so far from the restaurant it's 15 minutes away. I get to his apartment and it’s so classy, I decided to just look around to see if I can see any pictures of maybe his wife or girlfriend but there is none that is so much relief to me. 

The house is three times bigger than where I live, it's also incredibly gorgeous. I wander around and completely forget why I came here. I try to recall why I came to no avail. Felix you will make me go insane.

Suddenly I hear a knock at the door and I check who it is, to my surprise its Felix, omg Felix and I are in this apartment together and alone, I start feeling so much heat all of a sudden, my cheeks start burning, I'm sure they are red right now. I wonder why he is here. I just can’t trust myself alone with him. The big house all of a sudden seems too small to accommodate both of us.

“Sir why are you here, silly me, this is your house, sorry sir,” I say nervously.

“You were taking so long so I decided to check on you to make sure you are okay,” he says looking directly into my eyes and I blush. 

We are so close to each other till I can smell his cologne and feel his breath and it’s amazing. We literally breathe the same air. I think I see him coming close to me. It makes me more nervous than I was.

Please don't come near me, please, please. I don't want to result in doing something that I didn't want to do.
