CHAPTER 2: A JOB

Alexis's POV

I was so excited on my first day. I was introduced to my boss, the owner and the CEO of the Emmor restaurant by the manager Mr. Henry.

“ Mr. Felix , this is our new waitress Alex." Henry said respectfully.

“Oh that is good, hoping you interviewed her first." Mr Henry had to lie because he did not interview me. It was the turn of Mr. Felix to introduce me the rest of the workers.

“Hey everyone this is Alexis Gilberts your new work mate make her feel at home." Felix said with a commanding voice, and I could tell that he was respected and feared as well.

Felix is the elder guy probably forty-five or more years of age but since the first time I saw him I had a crush on him, he was tall with broad shoulders and a perfect jawline and he had kissable Lips and his eyes were amazing I could get lost in them, I was just looking at him daydreaming or maybe drooling I did not even realize my workmates were introducing themselves.

Felix.

What a wonderful name for a gorgeous man, a man of many talents. I have never been captivated by a guy this way, all my life I’ve been in an all-girls school so I’ve never been around men that much except for my brothers and my father and my teachers. So this feeling was quite new for me but it felt amazing.

It has been hours since I saw him but wow, this man, I do not know how to describe him in words. He is perfect, his body is just amazing I bet he works out each and every day.

“Hey Alex I said I’m Vigilance.”

“I’m so sorry I was just overthinking really sorry, nice to meet you vigilance."

“You can call me Viggy, I’m the head waitress here and this is Patrick the Chef and the others are still working you will get to meet them during the day”

“Nice to meet you Alex." Patrick said extending his arm for a handshake.

“Nice meeting you too Patrick."

Vigilance looked at me as if she read my mind and I saw a tiny smile forming on her lips mischievously, I bet she noticed me looking at Mr. Felix.

“ Since Viggy and Patrick you are the heads of the restaurant then I give you mandate to take Alex around to make her aquainted to the place." Felix says commandingly.

“ Alright sir." Viggy and Patrick say in unison. And after that Felix exists. I feel a little disappointed because he is not the one showing me around.

“ Alex lets show you around the place, we will start with the eating hall." Patrick says and I could feel the excitement in his tone. “Follow me ladies." he adds.

The eating hall is amazing. It is enormous and well decorated. It is all furnished with traditional chairs made of wood, and the tables too. At the center of all tables, there is a red vase with fresh-picked daisies. I do not count the tables but I think they are more than twenty. The walls are decorated with clay bricks and also they are portraits of animals; elephants, giraffes and zebras. It all looks incredible.

This place is a dream come true.

Patrick seems to smile every time at me, and I can see Viggy eying him. I see something in Viggys eyes. It is not good. But who am I to judge her I have only known for a couple of hours. so I just push the thought out of my head.

Patrick is a good tour guide he explains as he shows me the place and I like it. He then takes me to the rest area outside.

The scenery here is breathtaking. It has a hills view. The place has small umbrellas and chairs around it. The place is just wonderful during the afternoon when one wants to just relax, cool off, and have some drinks. There is also a small pool which is sparkling clean. This place is just magical. The garden has green grass which is well trimmed and the fence has different types of flower plants.

“Wow Patrick this place is just gorgeous, I love it and I am so glad to be among your team." I say to him sincerely.

“There is one place you have not seen yet Alex, the place where magic happens."

“ I cannot wait." I say eagerly.

“Then follow me." He ushers us in.

He takes us to the kitchen. Wow, it is enormous, It is even bigger than our living room back home. They are a number of cooks dressed in white and black hairnets. Patrick introduces me to all of them. I learn there is Benard, Hilary, Monica, and the others I do not recall their names. I am always not good with names. I come to realize that all this time we have completely ignored Viggy we did not even notice that she had left. I wonder why.

After the tour, Patrick takes me to Mr. Henry's office so he can delegate duties and give me a post. He tells me that since I was new, and I hadn't done my interview I will have to start with washing the dishes. I always do my best always so I make sure that I ace it so I can impress the owner Mr.Felix, the hottest man I have ever seen.

I think he knows he is gorgeous and it makes him a little arrogant. I just wonder why he is in my mind since I saw him. But the thoughts make dishwashing endurable because it's kind of gross all those dirty cups, plates, and spoons.

I wonder why they had to make me wash by hand when there was a dishwasher available. suddenly my thoughts drift back to Felix. I see him ordering the workers around and it's hot.

Not knowing that this will be the beginning of my suffering.
