“Maria, get back here. That was rude!” granny yelled after her. “It’s okay granny, leave her be. Will you excuse me for a minute?” I say and she nods. I immediately went to Sandra, took her hand and pulled her with me out of the room. I took her to the study and closed the door.
“Are you okay?” I ask and she shakes her head. I pulled her into my arms and held her. “I love him, and she is his mate, Bella. How can I compete with her?” she asks. This is the first time she has openly admitted she loves Chuck. “I am so sorry, Sandra. It doesn't seem fair. You are perfect for each other. I always believed that the Goddess doesn't make mistakes, but today I feel like she has,” I say, and she looks at me and can’t hide her tears any longer.
