Chapter Seven - Jade.

Kane was watching Athena and me with a soft smile on his face "Sort of a wolf huh?" I snorted raising my eyebrow at him.

"Athena is a Dire Wolf. She has been with me since she was a pup, I found her on my doorstep one day and we have been together ever since."

Athena and stared at each other like they were communicating "Can you talk to each other?" I asked "I can only talk to people who are family" a gentle female voice spoke in my head, "woah did you just speak to me?" I asked Athena out loud "we can communicate telepathically, like our minds are linked" the gentle voice replied. "That's so cool, I wish I could do that"

Kane smiled and said "Try it, just think what you would like to say to Athena"

I scrunched my face up in concentration and closed my eyes "Your fur is so soft and silky what conditioner do you use?" she chuckled in my mind "what conditioner do I use?"

"In my defence I didn't think it would work" I laughed.

I sat back down next to Kane he held my hand and Athena settled down at our feet, I didn't know what the future would hold but this moment right here and now I felt the most content that I ever had.

I sat up suddenly having a thought "Athena you said you can only communicate with family how were we able to speak?"

"Kane found me and saved me so he is like a father to me, he has claimed you as his therefore you are family to me." she answered in my mind. I sat back deep thinking I liked the thought of being claimed by Kane, my heart and body had claimed him too.

We went inside to serve dinner, I realised now why Kane laughed at me for setting three places at the table and chuckled to myself as I put the third set of dinnerware back in the cupboard, Kane served a big bowl of food for Athena which she gobbled fast and licked her lips. She said she was tired and going to bed, she trotted off upstairs.

We cleaned up the kitchen and then Kane asked if I wanted to watch a movie. We cuddled up together on the sofa and he put an action movie on, after the movie I yawned and we went upstairs.

When we got to the top of the stairs I headed towards my room, Kane grabbed my hand and pulled me towards his room "from now on you sleep with me" he stated, I smiled and nodded.

He opened his door and I got my first look at his room. There was a big four poster bed with black canopies, a fireplace with two comfy looking chairs in front of it and a fluffy rug on the floor.

One wall had shelves with all different types of crystals and candles on it. Big sliding doors opened onto a terrace which had sun loungers and on closer inspection I spotted a big hot tub (definitely using that first chance I get)There were two doors leading off his room, he opened one telling me it was the ensuite

The en suite had a bath that was sunken into the floor with steps leading down into it, there was also a shower like the one in the main bathroom with a stone seat to sit on.

His and hers stone sinks sat nestled on a big wooden slab.

"You have a beautiful home Kane" I smiled at him. He pulled me closer and kissed my lips "any hope of some bed clothes?" I asked looking down at the beautiful dress I was still wearing "I'm afraid I've used all my magic up for today so you will have to sleep naked" he gave me a panty dropping grin and started to help me out of my dress "is that so?" I chuckled. This man!

Kane kicked his trousers off and led me to the shower, he turned it on and soon hot water was spraying from the jets. I turned my face up to the stream of water wetting my hair and felt Kane's hands on me he started to shampoo my hair and I hummed in satisfaction, he washed my back and arms, his large hands came round to massage my breasts and then down my stomach.

Kane rolled onto his side tucking me in his arms with my head on his chest listening to his heartbeat as his fingers stroked up and down my back.

I drifted off to sleep wondering again what our future held and if somehow I could keep this man by my side forever.

That night I dreamt I was standing in a field full of buttercups. I could hear laughter in the distance I drifted towards the sound and there amongst the flowers was Athena, she was sat watching two children rolling around in the grass playing with two little silver furred wolf puppies. No not wolf puppies they were too large, they were Dire Wolf puppies. I looked closer at the two little children they were about three years old, a boy and a girl, identical in looks with beautiful blonde hair the same colour as Kane's, there was footsteps coming closer and the little girl shouted "Daddy!" running full speed into her fathers waiting arms, the little boy followed giggling and the man held a child in each strong arm.

"Horsey, Horsey" they both chanted "No Horsey until after lunch Mummy is waiting for us" the man replied laughing.

They started to leave the field with Athena and the pups following behind.

I walked behind them all and saw a beautiful farmhouse, as they got closer a woman came out to greet them she was heavily pregnant and smiling.

The little family got closer and the man kissed the woman.

Kane kissed the woman, the woman was me.
