Chapter 17

1063 Words
Maya POV As I slowly opened my eyes, a sharp pain pierced through my head, making me wince. I raised a hand to my forehead, trying to massage away the throbbing ache. But it only seemed to intensify, and I sighed tiredly. I looked around, trying to make sense of my surroundings, but everything seemed fuzzy and unfamiliar. I was lying on a bed, but it wasn't the usual room I was staying before. I struggled to sit up, as a figment of last night’s memories began to flood back. I remembered everything I did, how I was sent to seduce Andre’s client just to get information from him. How I shamelessly asked Andre to have s*x with me, I couldn’t believe I’d do such a thing, even though I wanted to comfort myself that I was under an influence I still couldn’t shake the thoughts of how desperate I wanted him. I threw off the blanket that was covering me, and I came down from the bed. My head spun, and I had to grab onto the armrest to steady myself. I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm my racing heart. “f**k!” I mumbled as I made my way to the bathroom. As I entered the bathroom, I turned on the faucet, letting the cool water flow over my wrists as I splashed some on my face. I patted my face dry with a towel, then I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My eyes looked swollen, my skin pale and dry. I tried to shake off the feeling, telling myself I was just being dramatic. But as I began to brush my teeth, my mind started to wander back, Again. I couldn't stop thinking about the way he had kissed her, the way my body responded to every of his touches, and for a moment he had seemed to...own me. My body. I spat out the toothpaste, rinsing my mouth with water. But they was one thing I was worried about, it was how he angrily left the room last night, leaving me yearning for more. “Why did he leave? What did I do to offend him?” This was my hidden thoughts I didn’t dare to ask myself. I shrugged the uncertain thoughts away and I quickly freshened up and I went back into the room, thankfully there were clothes inside the wardrobe, Without knowing who the owner was, I wore the clothes, though it was a little bigger than me. The room was silent as I sat on my bad, staring blankly at the wall without knowing what to do. Suddenly, the silence was broken by a knock at the door. She turned to the door. “Come in," I said cautiously. The door opened, and a maid entered the room, carrying a tray of food. The maid was dressed in a white uniform, her hair pulled back into a neat bun. She smiled brightly as she approached me "Good morning, ma'am," the maid said, setting the tray down on the bedside table. "I brought you some breakfast. Fresh fruit, toast, and a pot of tea." I looked at the tray, my stomach growling at the sight of the food. I hadn't eaten since the previous night , and she was starting to feel a little lightheaded. "Thank you," she said, trying to force a smile. The maid smiled again and nodded. "Is there anything else you need, ma'am?” I quickly shook my head. "No, thank you. This is fine." The maid nodded and turned to leave. "If you need anything, just ring the bell. I'll be back to collect the tray later." As the maid left the room, and I hungrily dug into the food, I needed enough strength to be able to understand someone as cunning as Andre. Within a few minutes, I was done with the food, I drank the cup of tea, and I belched loudly and I laid on the bed tiredly and I closed my eyes, and in a few minutes I was having the urge to sleep. But just as I was about to succumb to sleep, the door to my room burst open, shattering the quietness of the moment. I jolted upright, my heart racing with surprise. I stood up, my eyes fixed on the doorway, and that's when I saw Andre. He was standing beside the door, his face stern and unkind. His eyes seemed to bore into mine, with his jaw clenched. His presence was imposing, and I could feel the eerie aura emanating from him. For a moment, he just stood there, locked in a silent stare. While I was frozen in his gaze, unable to move or speak. And then, he took a step forward, his eyes never leaving mine. My whole body vibrated with tension as he got closer. I could feel a cold shiver running down my spine. But I didn’t want to show weakness, so I summoned courage and I stood up, standing in front of him on high alert, having no idea of what he wanted and what was going to happen next. Despite knowing I wouldn’t be able to defend myself against him, I still wanted to act prepared. “Let’s go,” he said, and just like that he turned to walk out the door. “You!” I called and he halted, and I sighed half that I was able to stop him. “Wouldn’t you say anything about what happened last night?” I asked shamelessly. It wasn’t ask if I wanted to continue the act with him, I just wanted to hear his thoughts on it to avoid further embarrassment. “What happened last night?” He threw the question back at me, while I just stared at him. “You got drugged and you begged me to f**k you, that was what happened,” he said the words so raw that I unknowingly move backwards, the weight of his response draining me. I quietly sat on the bed, and when he noticed I wasn’t going to say anything, he added. “Pretend as if nothing happened, because to me, it’s long been forgotten.” Immediately he was out the door, leaving me with no time to ponder over what he just said. Without wasting time, I followed behind him.
