Travis said, “Don’t do that!! We can go around ourselves and make sure that you are safe. You don’t need to use your precious Energy for anything but healing yourself. Okay?”
Scarlet gave a light chuckle and said, “It doesn’t take Energy to do it silly. I also can’t help it. It’s a habit that I picked up over the years of being alone. At this point I can’t really turn it off.”
Travis had a strange feeling about that and asked, “Can you feel… Us?”
She thought about the answer before she said, sadly, “I can feel everyone but you. That’s what scares me the most about you.”
Travis stopped mid-step and felt a stab in his heart. He didn’t know how to deal with what he had just been told. Finally, he said, “I can leave at any time. I trust that these Males will keep you safe.”
