As Vana predicted, the battalion on horseback arrived at the edge of an Eastern forest before nightfall. They camped a little beyond the treeline so that it would be harder for the bandits to creep upon them. But still, there was a sense of unease among the camp. There was a job to do. They would all sleep easier with the bandits rounded up or killed.
An updated report suggested that there were between thirty and sixty bandits in the band. Larger than Vana had hoped. Thea had the horrible suspicion that her current bad luck meant the true numbers would be on the higher end of the estimation.
She was surprised to find that a tent had been set up for her, within the central part of the camp, beside the commander's much larger tent where she briefed the Knights and the Sergeants of the
