“A loss for a gain,” Kiera said, looking at Jason with so much pain in her eyes.
“Why?” Jason asked, holding Kiera’s hands in his. “What happened after the nurse came?”
“I experienced the first pain of loss in life,” Kiera mumbled, with Jason staring at her, not understanding the meaning behind her words or the pain she had gone through in the past.

“Mom,” Kiera called, sitting beside her mother on the bed and gently placing her hand on her mother's. “Why are you like this? What happened?” Keiera asked with concern in her voice. Her mother looked at her with tears in her eyes.
Serena gave her a small smile from under her oxygen mask and signaled for the nurse to remove it. “I’m so happy to see you." Her voice broke as she struggled to speak. “Together with you, Dad,” she said
