**Dustin**
The boat slowed and dropped anchor. We were facing the sun as it slowly set and our dinner was brought to us.
“This is beautiful.” Eve whispered.
“I’m glad you are enjoying everything.”
We continued to talk through dinner and as the sun set I kissed her like my life depended on it and she molded into me. As much as I wanted to keep going, I needed to pace myself.
After sunset, the boat began taking us back toward land.
“Eve, I need to be honest with you about my intentions. I know we haven’t known each other very long and this is our first date, but I don’t want to play games.”
“Ok.”
“I want to be with you.”
“But what happens when you go back to Colorado?”
“When that time comes I hope you will come with me.”
She was silent and I could tell she was deep in thought.
“I really like you, Dustin.”
“I really like you too.”
“But I also need to be honest with you. The thought of moving is something I would really have to think about.”
She didn’t say no and I could work with that.
“We have plenty of time.”
As the boat docked, I used it as a chance to pull her into my arms. She didn’t shy away. She wiggled back into my arms and I felt content.
After we got off the boat, I took her through a lighted walkway in the park. I was designed for late night walks and I found Eve loved the sun but not the night. Every little sound had her looking around and holding on to me tighter. Which I wasn’t complaining.
I noticed as we walked along she could hear things a normal human would never be able to hear. I thought back to Evan saying Brayden was incredibly good at basketball and Gavin saying he could tell Kennedy was not human. I believed the same but I had no idea what they were. Did she know?
After the walk, I took her to a small ice cream parlor. We found a table for two by the window and ordered dessert.
Watching her slowly eat her ice cream was a bad idea. I have never been as turned on as I was as I watched her wrap her tongue around her spoon and moan at its goodness.
We would definitely be having ice cream when I was able to have her alone and all to myself. The things I wanted to do to her body.
“Is there something on my face?” Eve asked as she wiped her face.
“No, I was just admiring how beautiful you are and how I can’t wait to get you alone.”
I watched as her face once again turned red and I swear the shade of her eyes changed but for just a second.
As we headed back to her house, I found myself not wanting the evening to end. I wanted to take her back to my hotel and have my way with her, but I respected her too much to do that. But I wasn’t sure how long I could hold out. In such a short time, this woman had a hold on me.
I walked her to the door and pulled her into a kiss. It wasn’t a weak and short kiss, but long and hard. When we pulled away she was out of breath.
“I had a really good time tonight.” She whispered.
“The best.” I mumbled back, pressing my lips to hers once again.
“Can I come see you tomorrow?” I asked. We will never go this long again without seeing each other.
“I would like that.”
“When?” I didn’t even try to play it cool.
“Do you want to come over around 11?”
“I will be here.”
Kissing her one more time before I headed back to my hotel. As soon as I entered the room, I sent Eve a goodnight message and opened the portal home.
“How was it?” Faith asked the second I was through.
“Great.”
“You two are all better.” She teased.
“Yeah we are and I plan to keep it this way.”
“Good. I let the doctor know you are home. He wasn’t happy about you using a portal and leaving, but you look a lot better.”
“Being around Eve seemed to help.” Which was weird. Flames can bring comfort but not normally help with healing. But I swear as I was around Eve I felt myself getting stronger.
The doctor came in and after a few minutes said that he needed to take some blood, but it appeared all the poison was gone.
“Have you figured out what she is yet?” Milo asked as he pulled Faith to him.
“No, I don’t know if she realizes she isn’t human.”
“It would make things easier.”
“True.”
The next month went by quickly. I realized Eve had no idea she wasn’t human and every time I went to tell her I was a Kappi, something stopped me.
We were still looking into the demon attacks and they seemed to be happening only in areas I have control of and only in my neutral areas. But at every turn we were coming up empty handed, causing me to have to return to my realm more than I wanted right now. It also had me double my protection on Eve and her kids.
To try and make it easier, I decided to rent a house near hers so I could easily be with her and portal home when I needed to. I also was a better environment for all the warriors I had to bring.
After speaking to Rowan about Gavin, we decided to enroll him in the same school as Kennedy and Brayden. He tested out in over half of his classes and would be able to graduate in the first semester. Hopefully, by then I can tell Eve about us.
The kids have a long weekend and Eve decided to have one last cookout before the weather got cooler. To my surprise, she invited my sister, parents and grandparents. She had only met Faith but when she invited Faith she said to bring the entire family. Faith told her they were all visiting from Colorado. This would be the first time she would meet everybody. What could go wrong?
