Episode 1

Blue sitting in a thatched house crying out her eyes.

Margaret the mother of blue walks in. Hey blue what’s the matter with you?why are you sitting down here all alone crying yourself to stupor?

Blue goes close to her mother and held her hand tight. Mother I really want to ask you some questions and please do well to answer them diligently.

What are you talking about my child?

Mother, who am I to you?why did you name me blue and who is my father?

Blue are you serious right now,no tell me you are joking right now,aren’t you?

Blue became furious as she let loose of her mother’s hand. What the hell are you talking about mother.Its better you refer to me as miss no name rather than calling me blue it’s been 18years now ,yet you think i wouldn’t find out okay, if that be the case .Today I bumped into your old time friend whose your enemy. Do you remember ma’am Lucy,of course,you should be able to remember your old time friend. I met her today and she stopped I and my friends on our way back from school just to humiliate me and make fun of me.she called me the daughter of a slut and when I asked why the name calling,she told me of how you once worked as a stripper,you slept with different men just to meet up your need,eventually you stole one of her biggest client,you betrayed her and slept with him.Two week later,Mother you realized you were pregnant,you went back to this same man to give him feedback of his outcome and he gave you $5000dollars to get rid of me and use the rest to take care of yourself but thanks momma for keeping me ,but I guess that was the last day you heard from him and the news you later got was that he has returned back to his country. I just want to know why you named me blue.

Margaret was already hurt as she watched her daughter spilling out her filthy secret she has kept for years. Immediately, tears began to roll down her cheek.Oh wonderful this shows you already know everything, Smart kid , you’ve already passed your judgment on me,you now see me as a bad mother huh,is that it? I gave you the name blue because I was shocked when the doctors brought you to me,after you came out of me .You were looking so adorable and your eyes were blue and I could remember vividly.The man, I mean your father that impregnated me was a black American and he had no blue eyes and I too was an African lady.So it dawned on me of how strange it was.So I decided to name you blue.

Margaret fell on the floor as she began to sob harder

Blue began to blame herself as she couldn’t watch her mother crying and wailing.She took a deep breath and went close to her mother

Hey mum, you must have gone through a lot. Am sorry if I reminded you of your past but I promise to make it up to you.

Margaret rose up in pain as she yelled at her daughter blue.Blue I went through the bustle,hustles,and hurdles of life to see you through but that was not enough.Blue you are truly a mistake

Blue began to shed tears,Mum did you just call me that?

Yes I did ,you are a terrible mistake from the pit of hell, in fact the devil from the hell sent you to destroy my life.Margaret stood up from the ground where she was lying and walked towards the door

Blue began to follow her as she asked where she was going to as it was getting late already .

Don’t ask me that foolish question,am going to the bar .

oh no mum please don’t do this cause of your health.Am going to the bar to cool my head and don’t bother looking for me

Margaret walked through the door as she made her way to the bar

Blue became perplexed as she sat down on the small stool in the sitting room. she was lost in thought (Blue in soliloquy) oh God please help me,am just a little orphan with no relative and a father am just left with a mother whose suffering and dying of hepatitis B which she contacted from the useless man called Nicki. Nicki, was a retired captain who relocated back from the state.He was a generous and also an influential man,people respected him because of his good reputation and he served America as a captain.One day, I fell ill and was at the point of death mum had no choice than to work as a steward in his house. Seeing mum work for him was a terrible thing as he couldn’t stop staring at my mum all the time.One day he tried seducing mum but mum flee away from his house and he came back pleading for mum forgiveness,mum accepted his apology and she resumed work as his steward .Thing were going smoothly as everything was normal and he paid mum very well, we were very happy as we could eat three square meal a day,until one day he drugged mum and slept with her.Mum woke up in the morning and saw her clothes rip up that was when she realized that she had been raped,immediately captain came up with his wicked and boisterous smile ,declaring that he had won.Mum and I couldn’t do anything because he was bigger than us in terms of financial status.So the case was closed as mum didn’t sue him to court and mum stopped working for him as his steward.Months later mum began to sense some changes in her then she decided to run a test.Hummmm what the fuck.The result came out and she tested positive to (hepatitis B )which made her life miserable as she was already at stake as her liver began to enlarge and her health was deteriorating and she was given guidelines on things to take and not to take.I could remember vividly doctor instructing her not to take alcohol and she’s gone out to drink. I shouldn’t have done this in the first place that woman has gone through a lot in life.
