The day Lizbeth had been anticipating was here. It seemed like the weather was in sync with her emotions today. She had been working hard to obtain this managerial position since her first day at Axio. "Now let's welcome the new managing director of Axio Group and Company, Lizbeth Cole." She imagined this as she walked out of the conference room to prepare for the gala night. Despite her exhaustion upon entering her hotel room, the joy in her heart was incomparable to her stress at that moment. After napping for an hour, she got up from bed to freshen up for the night. While in the shower, a flood of imagination filled her mind. It was going to be an achievement for her, as she was going to be the first female to emerge in the managerial position at Axio. She came out of the shower and into the room, quickly changing into comfy clothing. She wore a white corset top and a long white skirt with a slit above the knee; the color was vibrant against her skin. While brushing her brows, she reflected on how desperately she needed a vacation from all the stress. Aside from job stress, her wedding was only a few months away, and finding appropriate bridal apparel had been difficult. She glanced at the mirror in front of her to get a full view of her makeup and dress, but she couldn't stop admiring her look as she turned her body to different angles. Lizbeth walked elegantly into the hall, flashing a smile at her colleagues and other board members. She sat close to her team members and observed her surroundings. The hall took on a garden-like theme, adorned with numerous white roses for decoration. For a moment, she lost herself in her thoughts as she envisioned herself stepping onto the stage following her announcement as the new managing director. The audience erupted into applause—so much noise in the room. Her heart swelled with pride as she began to speak. "All thanks to the management for believing in me when I just joined Axio." But before she could finish, a familiar voice cut through the air, shattering her illusion. The applause faded, and the stage dimmed. Reality crashed in as she blinked and discovered that her rival Andrew was giving his acceptance speech. What!! Lizbeth exclaimed She couldn't believe what just happened—her dream position was given to Andrew. She didn't see this coming at all; her eyes welled with tears as she quickly excused herself from the hall to the restroom. She stood in front of the mirror in the restroom, staring at her view, her heart heavy with disappointment. Her breath was shaky as the disappointment gnawed at her. She cleaned her face with tissue and applied some makeup just to enhance her look. When she reached the entrance of the hall, she changed her mind and decided to take a long walk around the city. It was her first time in Johannesburg, and she hadn't seen the city since she arrived three days ago. She tried to push her worries aside as she admired the night view of the city. The evening air warmed her skin as she walked on the pedestal side of the road with no particular destination in mind. All around her, the city bustled—people heading home from work, groups chatting at cafes, music, and voices spilling from the occasional open window. After walking for more than thirty minutes, she saw a couple of ladies standing by the roadside; she wondered what they were doing there. As she approached them, it dawned on her that they were Runz girls, but she decided to stand in their midst just to cool off. After a while, a car stopped in front of her. The stranger rolled down the windows and inquired, "What's your pay like?" Lizbeth was so engrossed in her thoughts that she remained unaware when she climbed into the car. “Move,” Lizbeth said in a low tone. "Okay, my lady,” he said and turned on the engine. For now, Lizbeth was simply enjoying the dark adventure without considering the potential consequences. With each inhale, her nose was overwhelmed with the mingled scents of leather upholstery and musky cologne. His fragrance exuded sophistication and luxury. Some moments later, his hand moved away from the wheel to brush her thighs, sending shivers down her spine. His palm was so tender on her soft skin that she envisioned him giving her a full-body massage with happy endings. However, the sound of his voice disturbed her reverie. “My name is Mike,” he said. “What’s your name, Miss?” He asked in a flirtatious voice. For a second, she glanced at him before responding, admiring his strong arms and facial structure. His body was a killer; she couldn't just resist touching him. Then she opened her mouth to speak. “My name is Lizbeth.” It's been almost thirty minutes of driving, and she wondered where he was taking her. Mike sensed the tension in her and tried rubbing her thighs just to make her feel at ease. She closed her eyes, letting the rushing sensation wash over her—until she heard his voice, “We’re home.” When she opened her eyes, they were in front of a building, painted all white. The building exuded a touch of luxury, but her gaze soon settled on a written inscription. Oooh! She exclaimed “Is anything wrong?” Mike asked her. “No, not at all. She responded, "I thought it was your home until I saw the write-up, which indicated it was a short-let apartment." He chuckled as they both walked into the house. Mike offered her a shot of Tequila. Despite her recent alcohol break, she needed this shot to alleviate her anxiety. She took three shots of tequila. After some time, she grabbed him and kissed him passionately like a hungry dog. The world outside faded into significance as they enjoyed each other's company; their connection deepened into something more intimate. The night culminated in a whirlwind of passion, a stolen moment of intimacy in a world that felt both exhilarating and fleeting. Their bodies intertwined, a symphony of whispered moans and urgent breaths. Time seemed to stand still; each sensation magnified, each touch revealing. The buzzing sound of her phone woke her up; she checked who the caller was. It was Sam, her fiance. She jumped from the bed, quickly got dressed, being careful not to wake Mike, and left without dropping a note.
