Uther had mentioned they would not stay at her parent's home longer than they needed to, but the sudden end to the visit had got Kaida thinking something was brewing. That and his odd decision to get them changed into their armours, not to mention how secretly they exited their royal carriage. She didn't even know that royal carriages had secret exits for its occupants. And she was sure that apart from Symund, none of Uther's men knew that they were no longer in there. A sharp ray from the setting sun hit her face, making her squint her eyes at the blinding light. They were now riding through Taedel's forests
