"He's too ugly to sit on the table."
Lu Sheng He was stunned when he heard those words and saw that all too familiar, yet strange cold face. His heartbeat lept by bounds and instinctively he jumped forward and tackled the man in his arms.
The man took a couple of steps back, startled, with a heavy body latching onto him suddenly. His cold face cracked a bit as the child took him by surprise.
Lu Sheng He felt light and short as he hung on the tall man's body. This height difference was the opposite of what it had been after he grew up. He didn't think before catching the person before he could fall from the rooftop again.
However, now that he assesses the situation around him, they were in a huge magnificent room that illuminated with a luxurious crystal chandelier in between and white pillars at the sides.
It was the Su residence that he had spent most of his life in until he moved out to...get revenge from this person, to suppress him.....
His frail arms tightened around the man causing Su Wen Hui to frown in discomfort.
"Behave. Let go." He tried to pry the hands of the child off but was halted in his actions when he saw the tear brimmed eyes of the child. Now that Su Wen Hui looked closely at that face he could say that the child had a bit lovable face, actually, and with those watery doe eyes, he looked exceptionally pitiful.
His heart softened a bit and his hard glare melted a couple of folds. Though, soon after he looked away and stiffly patted the child's head to calm him.
By now, Lu Sheng He had sorted his thoughts and analyzed all the circumstances he was in. Thin, weak, and tender body of a child, young-looking Su Wen Hui, alive and breathing, and back in Su residence. Even though it seemed a dream, nearly impossible, it had happened, and Lu Sheng He accepted it with open arms.
The outcome that the step father-son duo had was unacceptable anyway. He hadn't resigned to it and now if he could do things once again, he will make sure to repay his dad completely. He would do anything for him now and be a good filial son, becoming his right arm.
His thoughts broke when he felt a pat on his head and his eyes snapped up to look at the person who delivered such tender actions with that incredible awkwardness. Who else could it be other than his dad, Su Wen Hui?
He wanted to laugh when he saw the person looking away but only felt wet streaks on his cheeks. How could he have been so blind in his last life to hurt this person to death?
Su Wen Hui looked at the child from the corner of his eyes and couldn't help the sudden panic that struck him. The kid was crying now. But he didn't do anything! Was his pat really hard that it hurt the frail child?
He immediately retreated his hand and looked at the child troubled before walking away reluctantly, throwing a command at the butler who was standing behind him whilst witnessing all the scene unfolding.
"Quick. Make him stop crying and take care of his appearance before leading him to the dining room for dinner."
The door closed behind him and his figure vanished from his sight.
Zhu Bao, the old butler stepped forward and bowed in respect. "Little master, please stop crying. Young master Su won't like it. Let this servant lead you to your room for now."
Lu Sheng Hui stopped crying the moment Su Wen Hui had looked at him with troubled eyes when his mask had cracked. Or was he always so easy to read and it was only him (LSH) being the blind one?
However, back then, after he was taken in, he was closed off for a long time and the only interactions he remembered after coming to Su residence was Su Wen Hui looking at him before leaving with that "too ugly" remark and then having Butler Zhu delivering everything to him. They only met on the dinner table where he would keep his silence, never giving the other any chance to get in, when the other party was making a huge effort in doing that considering Su Wen Hui's antisocial skills.
So, he really was blind back then, thought Lu Sheng Hui.
He looked up at the old butler who was bowing down to him respectfully, as always.
"This way little master."
Zhu Bao led the way through the grand hall to a posh hallway and then they went up the double spiral staircase. His room was on the second floor, the second room of the corridor. Su Wen Hui's room was on the third floor where the head of the house resided.
In his last life, Lu Sheng He only got to shift to the third floor when he had joined the company. However, this time.....Butler Zhu led him to the third floor?
"Uh.....that, are you sure my room is here?" He asked quietly as he tugged at the hem of Old Zhu's dress-coat. He looked at the child down who displayed the image of a truly pitiful small animal, which caused him to speak with a bit more sincerity. Lu Sheng He was already into a child's playful mood. He was the rising business emperor for not nothing.
"Where would it be than here little master?" Old Zhu questioned back with a slight smile. He patted his back lightly ushering him forward and walking into a room that was one door away from Su Wen Hui's room.
Lu Sheng He's heart palpitated as he was directed into the room twice big as the one that was given to him on the second floor. This was the same room he shifted to when he finally got to move to the third floor.
It was as if the Old Zhu could see through his confused gaze, thus he turned to explain.
"Actually, young master Su had prepared two rooms for you. He wanted to give you one after seeing your adapting aptitude. If you weren't comfortable with sudden posh surroundings he would have worried. Now he thinks you are too sensitive to live separately on the second floor so he chose this room."
His every word was like a jab to his heart. He wanted to cough up a mouth full of blood. The indigestion of the truth was unbearable.
At that time when his mother, that vicious woman met him with the paternity test, she especially mentioned how Su Wen Hui had kept him, deliberately showing him his status of not being from the Su family. When in fact, all of it was just out of care.
Preposterous! That damned woman!
Old Zhu left after guiding him through the walkthrough that contained his clothes for every occasion. Old Zhu wanted to help him to bathe and prepare him but Lu Sheng He declined respectfully, leaving no room for Old Zhu. Therefore, he had to retreat silently.
After bathing and changing into comfortable clothes, Lu Sheng He looked at his ten years old body in the mirror. He was malnourished, resulting in a frail body that looked much younger than his actual age. He had worked hard back then to make up for the lacking muscles and had a build-up body finally in his youth.
The way to Su residence was troublesome and painful. Lu Sheng He was nothing but an orphan since he got his consciousness. He spent his early years as an orphan, a place that was worse than prison. It was the first place he had destroyed after coming into power. Don't ask about the dean. He was happy dying than living. And Lu Sheng Hui will do it again and again, even after thousands of rebirths.
Retribution has to be delivered.
After that, he didn't know where he went. Everything was a blur as he was constantly kept under the influence of drugs after the bastard dean sold him to a group. He would have destroyed that group of human traffickers if he could. However, Su Wen Hui had already done that for him, and a long time ago at that. He had known that too late than his liking and threw a tantrum at that back then. Now he could actually see the care.
He only got here because the two trafficking groups fought. Somehow, he managed to escape in between the commotion, coincidentally entering Su residence.
Samantha said that it wasn’t coincidental at all. According to her, Li Sheng Hui was kept by Su Wen Hui all the time only to see the right time to bring him out and nourish him to get back at his biological father.
To think he actually believed that lying bitch...!
A mocking smirk pulled at that tender innocent face of the child. A sinister look passed his eyes as the air around him became gloomy. It was an unfathomable sight on a ten years old child but no one was there to witness it.
Lu Sheng He was pulled out of his thoughts when Old Zhu came inside after knocking twice.
"Little master, let this servant he-- oh! You are ready. That's good. Let's go then, bah."
They went to the dining room where Su Wen Hui was already sitting at the dining table. Back then, when Li Sheng He had walked into the dining room he had failed to observe the actual emotions in the youth's eyes. Although he seemed to have facial paralysis, you could still see some sentiments flickering through those dark brown almond eyes. Because he was more knee on processing his surroundings for any possible threats, he had only glance once and the image of a cold statue was imprinted in his heart.
After knowing this person for decades the previous impression was torn ruthlessly by the reality. Instead of looking around unlike in his last life, he took the time to take in the nineteen years old boy sitting on the head chair with a reserved posture.
The air around him was dignified and a noble aura surrounded him.
Su Wen Hui felt a chill down his spine as he sensed a strong stare directed towards him. Confused, he looked up from his phone where he was checking the stock vicissitudes for the day, and his eyes locked with pitch-black eyes, seeming like a bottomless pit that could suck your soul in sheer darkness.
Su Wen Hui snapped himself out of the daze and finally realized that the owner of those oppressive eyes was that ten years old, frail boy that he had kept since this morning.
Something stirred in his heart and for some reason, he felt a threat coming from that kid. Or was it just his illusion?
