Chapter 3

Iris I whipped my head back around just as fast to see Serena smiling so wide. "Hmm... I think fate is at work." "No, fate is at nothing." "Okay, do you really just like doubting what is obviously in front of you or are you just blind?" I rolled my eyes and finished my drink. "I'm going to get another." "What?!" She followed me. "You should go meet him." "What? And say what?" "Umm... I don't know, that you would like to get to know him better or you know what, maybe you don't even have to say words; you could communicate with your lips and bodies." I rolled my eyes and slipped my glass to the bartender. "Another round of..." I turned to Serena for the name. "Midnight kiss." She supplied to the bartender, and I sighed. God, I don't even know what I was doing. I had given myself all this pep talk about letting go and doing new things on this trip, like f*****g a hot guy without getting to know them first but when it came down to finally doing it, I was overthinking it and... "Oh my God, he's coming here." "What?" I glanced in the direction she was looking at and looked away quickly. "s**t, what do I do?" "What else? Communicate with your lips. Umm, I'll leave you to it." "What? Oh my God, if you leave me alone right now, Serena, I'll..." She left me alone anyway despite my whispered threats and it was right about then that he got to me. I took the drink that the bartender slipped to me too and drank almost half of it down at once. "Whoa..." He put on that smile that immediately made my legs turn to jelly. "Take it easy." "Oh, hi, hey, it's you." I stuttered stupidly, like I hadn't just made eye contact with him twice. "Yes, it's me. Fancy seeing you here." "Y-yes, me too, I mean, you too. I-I wasn't expecting to see you here." "I know, right." He leaned in closer to say something to the bartender who collected his empty glass and I felt my knees go weaker at the whiff of his cologne. For some reason, it smelled even more intoxicating than it had done in the tattoo shop. I cleared my throat when he focused his attention on me again. "So, uhm... Do you stay around here?" I asked before I could stop myself in an attempt to make conversation. Ugh, a better question would have been if he lived in Florida. Of course he does, right? He smirked. "Why? Want to know how fast we can get to my house if you decide to have s*x with me?" My jaw dropped so low, I had no words for seconds, which made him laugh. "Just kidding. Yes, I do." I chuckled lightly, trying to ignore the palpable tension I felt in every part of my body. "Oh, okay." "How about you? You said you and your friend were only here for a week..." "Huh?" Oh right, one of the many things I had babbled on about at the tattoo shop. "Yes. We stay at an Airbnb quite close to the tattoo shop. It's on " "Hmm... Nice." "Yeah. I couldn't believe we got it for the price we got it for when we were searching. It has all the perfect essentials and is close to the..." Fuck. I stopped when I realised just what nonsense I was babbling on about again. "Sorry." "No." He laughed and nodded to the bartender, who passed him a new glass of whatever he was drinking. "No need to be sorry; I think it's cute…" "Huh? "Oh." I gulped down the rest of my drink and hiccupped when he suddenly moved into my personal space. "...that I make you nervous." "Make me...no." "Oh, I don't make you nervous?" He leaned in even closer. "No?" That was a really high-pitched no. "So when I do this..." He wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me flush against him. "You don't feel anything?" I couldn't respond, almost like my brain short-circuited or something but he kept going. "When I do this..." He brought his lips to my ear and fanned a hot trail down my neck and to my lips, where he stopped just a few inches from my already parted lips. "And this..." He pressed his lips against mine ever so lightly, like he was tasting the alcohol on my lips, before he pulled away. "You still don't feel anything?" I stopped myself from chasing after his lips right at the last moment and stayed speechless, but when he smirked and tried to step away from me altogether, I threw caution to the wind and pressed my lips flush against his. "Oh." He muttered against my lips, kissing me back, and I held onto him for dear life and support. My knees were literally jello, my stomach a jumbled mess and my skin on fire and he wasn't even touching me yet. He deepened the kiss, making the ache in my belly spread to other places and when he pulled back, I could barely breathe. "Want to take this somewhere private?" He asked as he pressed his head against mine and I nodded without even registering what he said. All I wanted was to continue kissing him, feel his skin against mine and... We barely made it out of the club before we were kissing again. His hand was wrapped around my nape while the other was on my waist, borderline touching my butt but I wanted more. I groaned, frustrated when he pulled away again. He chuckled. "I would very much like to kiss you and strip you of your clothes right here and now but the things I want to do to you and the sounds I want to hear you make, I think it's better to take this somewhere private." I looked around the alley; it seemed pretty empty to me. He seemed to understand what I had thought even without saying it out loud and chuckled. "Oh really? I guess you're not such a good girl after all?" I blushed profusely, my thighs pressing together at his gaze. "My apartment is just a few minutes away." He pointed to a bike I hadn't noticed in a corner and kissed me lightly on the lips. "We'll use that.”
