Chapter 15

"Mandy, wait up" I called for her.
"Leave me alone, I want to be alone" she said while crying, her back to me.
I stopped approaching her a meter away.
"I'm just here for you, always remember that" I said to her quietly.
"I don't know what to do when my whole life is a big lie!" she said.
"Look at me" I told her.
"No!"
"I'm right here if you need a hug, a shoulder to cry on. I know you need one right now" I said.
She didn't answer. Her shoulders were still shaking from crying.
It breaks my heart seeing her like this.
I know it's hard for her to accept the truth for now. It must have shocked her to the core.
I didn't expect it too.
She turned to me. Her face was red and soaked with tears. She didn't say any word and just started to stride towards me. Then without a single word, she hugged me. She buried her face on my chest. I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her back.
"It's okay, just cry it all out. Nothing is going to change in your life. You still have your father. He treated you like his own child. He is still your father and that will never change Mandy" I said, comforting her.
"Who am I? I don't even know my true identity anymore" she said between sobs.
"I know and it's okay. We're here for you no matter what happens. We're going to pass this through. We're going to solve this" I said.
"I feel like s**t right now. It shocked me to my core" she said.
"I understand” I said.
We stayed like that for a long time until Mr. Sevilla cleared his throat behind us.
I didn't notice that he approached us.
I immediately let go of Mandy.
"I'm really sorry for not telling you earlier Mandy. You're still my only daughter. Nothing will change" Mr. Sevilla said.
Mandy wiped her tears and nodded. This time, she hugged her father.
"Thank you so much for loving and taking care of me. I'm so lucky to have you as my dad" she said.
Suddenly, I feel like a stranger in that moment. I feel like I shouldn't be there and they need some private family time.
I feel so out of place.
"Oh Amanda, you are my one and only daughter. I and your mom love you so much" Mr. Sevilla assured her.
"Even if I'm a fire starter?" she asked.
I didn’t hear Mr. Sevilla's answer because my phone started vibrating inside my pocket. I pulled it out and saw my brother's name in the screen.
I quickly answered it.
"Hello" I said.
"Ryan, where are you right now?" he asked.
He sounded panic or something.
"I'm with Mr. Sevilla right now. We're in the second safe house. Mandy and Mr. Sevilla just got reunited. Why?"
"s**t, you need to get out of there Ryan. Bring Mr. Sevilla with you and go somewhere else" he said in an urgent manner.
My heart skipped a beat. I don't understand.
"Why?" I asked, confused.
"I just discovered a mole in our agency. We've been compromised" he said.
My heart started beating wildly inside my chest and I looked around.
Some of the Red Armour's guards were all over the place, guarding Mr.Sevilla and Mandy.
I moved away from them.
"Who's the mole? I'm gonna take him out before he even knows" I said.
"The mole is f*****g Rodriguez. Is he there right now?"
I immediately scanned the area for Rodriguez but I can't see him around.
Fuck! Where is he?
"No, he's not here" I told my brother.
I heard him sigh shakily in the other end.
"Ryan, get out of there as soon as possible. Grab both of them" he said and cut off the line.
I quickly turned to the two who were busy catching up with each other.
Mandy is smiling from ear to ear and it's so good to see her this way. I hate to break the bad news to them.
However, before I can even approach them, I heard a gunshot. My eyes widen when I saw Mr. Sevilla being shot in the back. Then, another shot again to his head. I quickly pulled my gun in my holster and aimed at whoever who shot him.
I don't see anyone.
Red Armour's guards are now sprawling all over the place, searching for the gun man. Mandy caught her dad who's now lying lifelessly in her arms.
The smile on her face is gone now. Again, she's crying, no, weeping.
"Dad! Wake up! Wake up please!" she said while shaking him.
I leaned down to check Mr. Sevilla's pulse but I can't feel anything.
His heart was no longer beating. The shot to the head was obviously fatal.
"I'm sorry Mandy, he's gone" I said to her.
"No! He can't die!" she said hysterically.
I can't stand seeing her this way, seeing Mr. Sevilla dead.
I can't almost stomach the scenario. Blood is all over Mandy's face and arms. Her father’s open eyed and lifeless in her arms.
"Team! Scout all the area and shoot to kill!" I commanded the guards.
Shit! I can't help but to think that this is Red Armour's fault.
How come we didn't see it coming?
My brother was too late. He should have found out earlier and we could have been more careful.
But blaming won't help, it won't matter now.
I bet Red Fox had bribed Rodriguez to be a mole. That bastard was always for the money. I didn't know he will really do such things just for money. This is betrayal in a whole different level.
I will kill him myself if I'll have the chance.
We can hear gun shots all over the place. Maybe Red Fox has penetrated the place and Red Armour's fighting off, either way, I need to protect Mandy and keep her safe no matter what.
"Mandy, we need to go. Red Fox might get to you" I told her.
"No, I'm not going anywhere! I won't leave dad!" she said between weeping.
She's still cradling her father's dead body in her arms.
It's breaking my heart into pieces.
The gunshots are getting closer!
Shit! What the hell is happening?
I can see a lot of men from Red Armour were lying unconsciously on the ground.
I just hope not all of them are dead.
I quickly dialed my brother's number. When he picked up, I told him everything.
"We need back up, now! We're getting outnumbered" I snapped at him on the other line and cut off.
I grabbed Mandy by her shoulders and forced her to stand up.
She's trying her best to fight my strength but she can't.
I'm too strong for her.
"No! I don't want to go!" she growled and bit my hand.
"Aw!" I said in pain and let go of her.
She's too stubborn.
"We need to go! I understand you’re grieving but we need to make you safe! We don't have time for this" I told her.
I looked around and saw that Red Fox's men were advancing toward us. There were like five or more of them and there were only three men from Red Armour who are fighting them off!
"s**t! We're getting outnumbered Mandy! Like seriously!" I told her desperately.
I aimed my gun at the bad guys but I didn't hit anyone.
I'm too distracted for Mandy.
She turned towards them and her eyes widen in pure rage.
She balled her fists and she's shaking. I can see she's clenching her teeth too.
"Mandy?" I asked her.
She didn't answer.
I can see the bad guys killed the three remaining men from Red Armour.
"Damn s**t!" I cursed loudly.
If I need to haul Mandy on my shoulders just to get out from there, I'll do it!
"They killed everyone I loved!" she growled.
Some of the bad guys were already aiming their guns at us and some were approaching Mandy.
We are so dead!
"Why do they need to kill my dad?" she asked me, weeping.
She's weeping again. Her cries were echoing around the place.
Everyone can hear it.
"Mandy we need to go" I said to her.
"No!" she screamed and the house exploded.
I was dumbfounded.
What happened?
The bad guys were looking at each other, obviously confused.
Mandy turned to me.
She's still crying. Fresh tears are flowing from her eyes.
"I will kill them all!" she screamed again and all the bad guys were engulfed in flames.
Flames that just came out of nowhere.
They are desperately rolling on the ground but seems like the flames are not getting off. It's toasting them. They are screaming in agony.
"Mandy, let's go" I told her again.
"No! I will burn this place!" she said in pure anger.
Her eyes are red from the reflection of the flames she's staring at. She opened her palm and another explosion booms.
Half of the place is now on fire. We're standing there, looking at the flames engulfing the house. The bad guys were no longer moving but still their bodies are on fire.
"Mandy, seriously we need to go now or the authorities will be here. It will only delay our plans" I said to her.
She looked at me.
"I didn't deserve this. My dad didn't deserve it" she said in clenched teeth and glanced at her dad's corpse.
"You're not planning to burn this whole place down, including us, right?" I asked, a little nervous.
"I just want to cremate my dad's body" she said.
She leaned down to his father's corpse.
She closes her father's dead eyes and kisses him on the forehead.
"Bye dad, I love you. I promise, I'll avenge you" she whispered into his ears and flames started to climb on her father's body, starting from his feet up to his head.
I held both her shoulders and helped her stood up. She wiped the tears that were flowing from her eyes.
"I, I feel so tired” she said to me.
She tried to take a step towards me but fainted immediately. I caught her on time before she fell to the ground.
She must've put a lot of effort into making a fire this big. I looked at her and I can't believe such a beautiful young woman can raise hell into Earth.
As I stared back into the flames, I realized how dangerous this woman can be, dangerous yet so fragile.
