Chapter 9

"Mandy! Mandy, wait!" I called out. "Don't talk to me!" she said without even facing me. She quickly walked out from the hotel. Damn! I made my steps bigger so that I can catch up with her. I caught her arm and that made her stopped walking. "Wait, I’m sorry" I said. She snatched her arm from me. "Don't talk to me. Leave me alone" she said in a quiet voice. Her expression was blank. I sighed. When she started to stepped away, I didn’t stop her this time. I feel awful. I should have not said those things to her. I forgot about her feelings. She’s the victim her. Maybe she's really just afraid and just pretending to be strong. Of course she's afraid, who wouldn't? Again, I let out a frustrated sigh before my phone started to vibrate in my pocket. Mr. Sevilla is calling. "Yes, Mr. Sevilla" I said to him. "Please come to my office, we need to discuss something" he said and immediately cut off the line.           "We need to execute plan B" Mr. Sevilla told me. He is sitting on his executive chair, looking anxious and serious at the same time. I am sitting across him. "But sir, you'll break Mandy's heart by doing it" I said. A glint of sadness crossed his eyes. "It's for her own good. I know the kidnappers are targeting me and they are doing it through Mandy. They are trying to ruin me through her" My lips were set into a thin line. He doesn’t have any idea about the syndicate with a codename The Red Fox who’s really after Mandy and not him. I know the syndicate had tried to kill him during Mandy’s party because they needed that kind of distraction. They want Mr. Sevilla to have everybody’s attention and not Mandy. Plus, if Mr. Sevilla had died that night, the syndicate might have thought that Mandy would be helpless and vulnerable. Without her father, no one could protect her.   Even if I wanted to tell him that, but I think I don’t have the right to do so. Mandy should be the one to tell her father about her mother’s secret and history. I think the man deserves to know. He doesn’t even know the barcode tattoo on his daughter’s back. I just decided to keep my mouth shut. "Inform your brother regarding Plan B and prepare everything I need. Take care of Mandy. Promise me you'll keep her safe no matter what" he said I looked at him straight in the eyes before I answered: "Yes, Mr. Sevilla, even if it will cost my own life" I said. I saw his shoulders visibly relax. "Tomorrow night, we will do Plan B" he said and I just nodded.     The Red Armour’s A-team was now in the rooftop together with Mr. Sevilla and Mandy who still doesn’t have any idea what is going to happen. She’s still not talking to me. We are doing Plan B tonight, without Mandy knowing about it. Mr. Sevilla will pretend to go to Singapore in his private helicopter. Then, we will blow his helicopter and make everyone think including Mandy that Mr. Christian Sevilla is dead. Everything was planned accordingly. The dead body that is supposed to be Mr. Sevilla is already set, we got it from a morgue. The pretend chaos was already set too and just waiting for my signal. Some of the people from Red Armour will pretend to be bad guys and they’re going to attack the security team. All I am waiting is for Mr. Sevilla to say goodbye to Mandy before I give a signal to the other Red Armour team. The helicopter is now ready. Mr. Sevilla glanced my way and then shifted his attention to Mandy. "Amanda, I'll be leaving you for a month and I am expecting you to behave in a safe way. No more reckless parties and everything. Wherever you go, bring Ryan with you. He will protect you no matter what and he will make sure that you are safe. Just trust him" he said to Mandy and glanced at me. "Whatever dad" Mandy answered, obviously still annoyed with me. "Look I don't have much time. I want you to know that I love you and you are all I've got. Please remember that everything I do is for your own good" Mr. Sevilla continued. "Why are you saying this to me?" Mandy asked him, confused. Mr. Sevilla just smiled bitterly. "I love you and please take care of yourself. I'm going to miss you" he said and kissed Mandy’s forehead. "I'll be leaving now" he then said and glanced at me. I nodded in response and texted the other team to "attack". Approximately 10 seconds after I hit the button send, a group of men with mask on their faces and big guns came rushing at the rooftop. Mandy confused and oblivious from everything was left standing in the middle of the chaos. The security team grabbed Mr. Sevilla and guided him inside the helicopter. I on the other hand, grabbed Mandy from behind. "What the f**k is happening?!” she shouted at my face. "The Red Fox!" I shouted back.  It’s hard for us to hear each other because of the chaos. Gun fires were everywhere and I saw Mr. Sevilla sitting inside the helicopter, he nodded at me. "Dad!” Mandy shouted while trying so hard to break free from my grasp. She wants to go to her father.   "He's safe...we need to go!" I said to her. Someone threw a teargas and I immediately grabbed Mandy by her waist, practically dragging her from the chaos. "Let go of me! Let go!" she said. I counted 100 seconds while dragging her away from the rooftop and in to the hotel. After 100 seconds, the helicopter exploded. Mandy didn’t see it but everyone in that chaos knows that it’s Mr. Sevilla’s helicopter. Of course Mr. Sevilla was not in the helicopter. He was already safely transferred to Red Armour’s protection. He’s supposed to wear a mask and pretend to be one of the bad guys when exiting the building. This fact is hidden from Mandy and everyone except Red Armour. Mandy elbowed me on my face and I lose my grasp on her. She quickly ran towards the rooftop even if it’s almost zero visibility from all the chaos and teargas. "Mandy, no!" I said, trying to stop her but it’s too late. She started to wail. "No!" she shouted and fell to the ground when she sees everything. I wanted to comfort her and tell her the truth, but I shouldn’t. I made a promise to his father that Mandy should never know about his plan. I don't like seeing her like this. A tinge of pain enveloped my chest. I gently grabbed her shoulders to help her stand but she refused. "I'm sorry Mandy..." I told her. She’s still crying. I heard her whispered something. I leaned down to see her face but she’s looking down to the ground. "I will kill them...I will kill them all!" Mandy shouted and as if on cue, all the lights and the voltage box in that area exploded. Then, she collapses on the ground. I was dumbfounded. That must be a coincidence, right? I gently grabbed Mandy and lifted her. The alarms went off and so did the sprinklers. We are both soaking wet from the water sprinklers. I glanced at her beautiful face and I felt my heart skips a beat.
