Maya’s POV
I stopped dead in my tracks.
He was here. Alpha Dante. Dressed in a black suit, clean-shaven and deadly calm.
I nearly lost my footing. “W - what are you doing here? How —”
“— did I find you?” He cut me off, crossing the distance between us. “Let’s just say…I felt this inexplicable pull. There was no mistaking it. This is the connection I've been searching for.”
I froze as he reached for my hair. “What?”
“Looks like fate had other plans, huh? Who would've thought you'd be my mate?” he grinned.
I swallowed hard. “No. That's impossible.”
“But it isn't,” he smiled. “I felt the bond and I know you do too.”
All of a sudden, I felt an inexplicable tug in my chest and nearly gasped. No, the Moon Goddess couldn't be this cruel.
“Miss Sinclair,” he said, stepping closer. “I have a contract for you.”
I stared at the white paper emblazoned with the Blood Moon crest and stiffened.
Before I could respond, he grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the bar.
“Where are we going?” I asked as he pulled me towards a black McLaren.
“To talk,” he let go of my arm and opened the door to the backseat.
I crossed my arms over my chest. “I'm not going.”
“Get in the car, Maya, while I'm asking nicely.” his voice darkened.
I swallowed and got in. He slid in beside me and told the driver an address I haven't heard about.
The car arrived at a private lounge in Hotel Stone and a shuddering breath escaped me. Way to bring back memories, Alpha Dante.
Dante led me to his private suite and sat across from me, legs crossed and arms resting casually on the armchair like this was an ordinary business meeting which it clearly was not.
“Read it.” He said not forcefully and still not gentle either.
I reached for the folder and a paper slipped out. I read through it and blinked. I read it again, making sure I wasn't hallucinating what I was seeing.
“You want me to be your Luna?” I asked, unsure of the question I'd asked.
“Yes,” Dante replied without hesitation. “For two years. Both of us will make public appearances at charity events, pack ceremonies and…” he leaned forward. “You'll provide an heir.”
I nearly jumped out of my seat. “What?”
He didn't even flinch. “Sit down, Maya.”
“No!” I shook my head.
He released a sigh and rose to his feet. “Sit down, Maya.”
When I refused, he grabbed my arm and tugged me closer, close enough to catch a whiff of his perfume.
“It seems you do not understand how much I need you, Maya.” he whispered, his face a few inches away from mine.
I sucked in a breath. “I… why should I be your breeder?”
He didn't answer. Instead, he leaned his face in the nook of my neck, one arm on my lower back while the other rested on my hip.
“What makes you think I'd even agree with you?” I asked with a shudder.
Dante chuckled. “You'll finally have all the things you need, Maya. Wealth, status, protection. Everything you wanted but never got the chance to will be all yours and, in return, I get a Luna my pack respects and a child with a strong bloodline.”
I wanted to scream, hit him and probably walk out, but I couldn't. Not when this man didn't know the real truth. The truth that I'd been sent here to seduce him and bring him to his knees. It wasn't supposed to go this far, but it had. Now, I had power in front of me, real, tangible power. A contract worth more than anything I'd ever touched.
I flipped through the contract, my fingers hovering over every clause; public Luna, 2 years, heir expected within the first year, till it got to the final page that said ‘signature lines’.
My pen hovered over the signature line and I looked up at him one last time.
Dante wasn't just offering me love. He was offering me power, and I was done being powerless.
I lifted the pen and signed my signature.

The journey to the BloodMoon Pack took hours. From the private jet to the sleek car that picked us up at the hangar. I stared out the window the entire ride. Everything was moving so fast. I was no longer Maya, the bartender. I was now the Contract Luna of the most powerful Alpha on the continent.
The car slowed as we approached the towering iron gates in the background. Armed wolves in black uniforms stood guard, giving tight salutes as our car passed through.
The estate was beyond massive. There were lots of greenery and training fields and a glass palace was nestled between mountains and forest. It looked like something out of a fairytale. The kind I would soon burn to the ground.
The door to the back seat was held open, and I stepped out with the help of one of the guards.
I turned to look at Dante, and he gave me a quick nod.
“You’ll be living in the Lunar Wing,” he said as he led me to the massive opulent hallway. “I'll have the maids show you to your room." You'll have a personal physician at your beck and hall and my Beta will see to your everyday schedule.”
“And your heir?” I asked, trying to keep my voice neutral.
Dante's eyes swept all over me slowly, and he said, “When the time is right, I will visit your chamber.”
Deep down, I didn't know why I felt sad about what he said. I nodded slowly and turned to leave when he suddenly called my name and I froze midway.
“One more thing,” Dante said casually. “My demon son will be arriving tomorrow". I want you to welcome them with me.”
My blood suddenly chilled at the mention of Sebastian. I had almost forgotten about him.
I forced a smile. “How lovely.”
Dante nodded only once and disappeared down the hall. As soon as the doors closed, I dropped the act. This is real. Everything was all real.
Of course, it was because, this time, I wouldn't be the girl that he broke one year ago. I would be the Luna of his pack, I would be his father's wife. Pack and this time, I would be more powerful than him.
