Greta walked across campus, towards the Political Science department on the east wing. Known for her unwavering loyalty, Greta was second in command, beside Lydia. Dressed in designer clothing, she carried out daily routines at the fraternity. Her curly dark brown hair styled perfectly was the perfect example of corporate America.
She ensured every kind of threat or sabotage was eliminated to protect the sorority and the president. Though she actively and successfully mirrored Lydia as her idol in every way. The Vice Presidential convoy landed at Whitman College, causing attraction at Central Park. Reporters and fans were eager to get a glimpse of the presidential family.
“Can we get a picture?” A reporter asked. “Look over here, Audrey.”
“Over here Mr. Vice President.” They shouted. The Vice President together with his family posed for the photographers. In the midst of the crowd, Audrey spotted James. She got drawn into James’ flirtatious stare and smile.
Suddenly, she couldn't look away, she found the situation amusing.
Climbing the stairs, Audrey was asked about how she felt starting college. She acknowledged her excitement. She still felt the stare from James. Once again, she turned to look. James with his cunning smile never looked away the whole time. Intrigued, she hardly took a step.
Audrey's soft brown eyes conveyed innocence and purity. Leaning on the tree, James enjoyed her presence and admired the beauty of her eyes.
Gradually, he believed there was a quiet strength behind those innocent brown eyes.
Endowed with natural beauty running through her long, wavy black hair, Audrey is cute and graceful. She was dressed modestly, reflecting the type of home she was brought up in.
Her slender appearance and sophisticated, yet humble lifestyle was appealing. James began to think of the best approach to seduce this twenty year old lady. Having yet to settle down. Audrey had to deal with her mother's fears regarding her stay on campus. On the phone with the Second Lady, Audrey assured her of her safety.
On the call with her mom, her back facing the door, James walked to the open door. He stood there quietly and leaned on the wall waiting for the end of the call.
“Hi” he greeted her as soon as the call was over.
Audrey got startled a bit. She turned around and whispered the softest “hi” ever heard. James proceeded to enter but he was suddenly stopped by her security detail from behind. The secret service agent pinned him against the wall.
James was asked to identify himself. Audrey came to his rescue and asked Sandy to let him go. She acknowledged knowing him. “It's okay Sandy, let him go I can handle him” Audrey assured her.
"What makes you so sure you can keep up with me?” James smiled. James joined hands with Audrey to help unpack. “I saw you at the park,” said Audrey. “I just passed by,” He lied.
“You have quite a reputation that can hardly go unnoticed,” she added. “Frankly, I'm flattered. I think you do too.” James was dying to know. “So what have you heard about me?”
“Alot. Truth is, I'm not going to have s*x with you”. She boldly walked to him and grabbed her dryer from his hands. “hmm, I swear that couldn't be in my file” he counter-argued.
“So what do you want?” she asked, puzzled. “Why don't you tell me? Guess you might have something worth sharing.” He vaguely insinuated.
After packing, James insisted on joining her to the Omicron legacy. Stating a true gentleman should not let a lady walk alone to a function. "Do you see me as a bad boy?" He asked on their way to the meeting.
“I believe every bad boy sees himself as a gentleman. He believes he is doing the ladies a favor” she said.“Alright, if you're gonna accept everything you heard about me to be true then I might as well do them for you” he replied.
“Ah, okay. So what do you think I should do?” she asked.“I don't know. Perhaps continue being the pretty-virtuous Vice President daughter.” He answered, smiling.
“You came in uninvited, helped me pack my stuff, now walking with me to my meeting. I don't think you're here just to be nice. So what do you really want from me?” Audrey asked once again.
“Nothing.” James answered. “I'm finding it hard to believe.” she said.
“I know exactly how it feels to have a preconceived mind about someone,”
“Yeah, I get it now. This is where you seduce me with the we're not so different line”
“Trust me. If I wanted to f**k you, you and I would be in bed by now.” James held her hand and pulled her gently to his left side. Audrey, amused, went along with it.
She asked “So you don't wanna f**k me?” “Frankly, I thought you could use a friend,” James said. “You rather could use one” she offered him.
“Alright then since you offered” James accepted the offer.
After the meeting at Omicron legacy was over, James offered to have a drink. Audrey followed him to The Moonlight. The doorman recognized Audrey and refused to let them in because she was underage. James tipped him a hundred dollar bill to stay quiet on the issue.
“That was embarrassing.” Audrey said.
“No problem. You're not a cheap date, so that's cool.” James said.
“Sometimes, I wish I could just be a normal girl and go wherever I please,” she wished.
“What kind of normal girl would like to be?” James asked, out of curiosity. Audrey scoffed, “Wouldn't you like to know.”
“Now this is where you try to seduce me with the we’re not so different line?” said James .
Audrey chuckled, laughed over the tit for tat situation here. The bartender approached and asked what they would take. “What’ll it be mademoiselle?” James asked gently.
“I'll have a dirty martini,” she said. “And I'll have a daiquiri with cherries on top” James requested.
“ You're having fun?” Audrey asked him.“What I've been trying to get to you is: not all you hear, always appears as it is.” James insisted.
Audrey chuckled and smiled. She agreed with him on that, though she refrained from endorsing it outright. Somehow all she heard about him was bleak and quite ugly. But for the first time, speaking with the legendary James Damon face to face was an experience she enjoyed. She never imagined her day would turn out this way.
But she reminded herself not to get fooled. Though James sounded all convincing and sweet in every detail, she must protect herself. She imagined several scenarios, wondering which one would perhaps be his best move.
“How's your martini?” James called her out of her pensive mood.
“Been nice. I guess I've got to go.” “I wanna know, why Omicron legacy?” James questioned.
“My mother was a member and her best friends are from there.” She casually answered.
“That's sweet.” James replied, looking away.
“You're also part of a sorority. What's the deal then?” She asked impatiently.
“You're damn right. But not the one my dad intended for me.”
“I can assure you I'm not influenced by my mom in making this decision.” She continued.
“I'm for helping the community, supporting women, and developing lifelong bonds.”
“I don't expect you to understand, anyway” She said.
“Don't get me wrong, but really why Omicron legacy?” James still asked
“Look, I love my parents and that's my way of showing them the same. I want them to be proud of me” she sounded fed up.
“That's the modern path most people choose to take and convince themselves they are doing the right thing.” He replied. “Don't you love your family?” She asks surprised. “Family?” James asked rhetorically
“Don't tell me you were raised by apes? She quickly chipped in. “Nope. My mom was.” James said playfully with a smile. “Oh, poor thing.” She said, joining the game.
“Just so you know, I'm not ready to share my bed-wetting during childhood. And my fear of motorcycles.” He warned as he took a sip. “Hold on, motorcycles?” She asked, surprised.
“Yeah, I was terrified by motorcycles. I couldn't get on one until I was 13.” James confirmed.
“So true, right? I had the same fear. Mine was worse, until I was 16.” relating to the same phobia he had.
They both recalled countless situations where they were involved with motorcycles. They compared their less scary moments to the scariest ones. They laughed at each other's situation.
“Do you mind me asking? Why don't you wanna talk about your family?” She asked.
“It's complicated.” James admitted.
“So you think the pretty-virtuous Vice President's daughter wouldn't understand, complicated?” She asked, pulling herself towards him with a smile.
“Excuse me? Sorry to bother you but you look familiar. Do I know you?” A middle aged man behind Audrey asked intrigued. Audrey turned briefly and answered: no.
