Sarah“Are you guys excited?” The sonographer asked. Her name was Alison.
Sarah reached for Caleb’s hand and smiled. After several heart-to-hearts, they’d both agreed that they were in fact excited about having a baby together. By the time Sarah went in for her first appointment with her OB-GYN, she was already eleven weeks along and was scheduled for her first scan the week following.
“Very excited.” It was Caleb who answered.
“That’s wonderful,” Alison said. “Now, Sarah, I’m just going to put some gel on your lower abdomen. It might be a little cold at first touch. Is this your first time?”
Sarah shook her head. “Baby number four,” she said as she held her breath, anticipating the cool gel.
