SarahThe next day, Sarah left early to pick up a pregnancy test. She returned home shortly after and was surprised to find Caleb and children having breakfast.
“Mommy!” Noah exclaimed with a mouth full of cornflakes as soon as he saw her walk in.
“Don’t talk with your mouth full, Noah,” Zoe reminded her older brother.
“Shut up, Zoe!” Noah spat.
Sarah closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “Noah Gardner, I have told you many times before—that’s not the way we talk to each other in this house,” she said sternly.
“Everyone got up early and decided they were hungry,” Caleb said when he saw the expression on her face.
