Chapter 33 PhilipThat night, Philip pulled Louise’s hair back into a loose ponytail. He took her toothbrush from the cup and squeezed some toothpaste on it. “Ready to brush your teeth, darling?” Louise looked up at him and nodded. She spoke less and less as the weeks went by—all she could manage were five or six words at a time. What few words she had left were reserved for the children who kept a light burning within.
