Chapter Eighteen

LEO “The white roses, Anna. That’s what Ellie wants.” She giggles. …And I recognize that voice, the harmonious and sweet soprano sending the same rush of desire into every inch of my body. My mate My possession My little girl, Kendra. My c***k twitch, something that has been recurring often lately. I am thrown into a moment of filthy visions, a dark desire that shocked the hell out of me. "I don’t want to borrow your dress. I told you that I do not want to dress up in a way that would catch anyone's attention.” "Do you realize just how important this ceremony is? This could be your chance to meet your soulmate, that special someone and you are not going to find him looking frosty and dowdy.” Anna says. "I don’t want, Anna. Please don’t make me." I hear the tiniest hint of frustration in her tone. I bite my lip, surprised amusement can still rouse within me. It’s not like I’d stand in that hall on the ceremonial day and watch anyone choose her, but I like that she is not willing to be chosen. Kendra’s velvety timbre, it just won’t stop echoing out through the great hall to where I am training with the personal guard assigned to me in the courtyard. Filtering into my ears like the chirping of birds in the morning. The iron fist tyrant King is loosening up a bit towards me and have gradually starts to include me in matters of the state. Other noises surrounding me, the sounds are the normal ones of the everyday activities that go on within the palace. The clanking of swords from the guards training in the field, clatter of horses’ hooves upon the cobbles, the occasional cry or call out. Nothing is out of the ordinary. The lost side of me craves the sounds of battle, and I vision one coming soon. King Arthur’s soldiers that line the wall at attention might not keep it from falling when the time comes. Distracted by sounds and especially my mate’s call out and giggling with the Princess for a second, the guard comes in quick for a strike, but I grab his wrist. Freeing him, i square off against him, taking a firm, wide stance. I tighten my grip on my sword and he set his eyes on my weapon. For too long, the seven kingdoms have fought amongst each other, squabbling over land and power while King Arthur wax stronger, encroaching into lands and expanding his borders. My father is a tyrant, a weak and unwise one. It burns my heart to see how fast he is starting to lose control of the kingdom. The blade of the guard’s sword shoots out at me, I knock the sword to the side with the flat of my sword, shoving it away. I want to rule Stormhalt, but not as a weak tyrant whose idea of power is inflicting terror on his people. My idea of an alliance will be uniting the seven Kingdoms as one, a clenched fist that will stand strong against our common enemy, King Arthur. “What is your name?” I ask the guard as we parry. “You don’t fight like one of our men.” “My name is George and you are right, My Lord, I don’t wield my sword like a Stormhalt soldier, I am not a full soldier yet. I’m still under training” “A weak trainee as my personal guard?... Sounds insulting.” I give a mocking smirk and his eyes redden. Trust me, I can make a beast of anyone. I go in for a strike, but he grabs my wrist. “But I’m a very fast learner, my Lord.” A smug smile playing on his face. I chuckle, “I feel wounded, George. Nice try, but you’re ten step too sluggish.” I twist out of his hold and leap forward, tackling him to the ground. Placing my sword on his neck, “ You have a long way to go, George.” I give him my hand and when he takes it, I pull him up to his feet and slide my sword in my waist-scabbard. I need allies if I’m going to survive this place. “Take a stroll with me, George.” “It will be an honor, my Lord” He bows slightly. As we slowly starts walking towards the garden, Kendra’s giggling voice winds into my ears again, this time it sounds a lot closer, a lot more than an echo from the hall. I was taken aback by how fvcking beautiful she was in the forest so free with her pleasure. Taking my name in her sweet tongue as she drilled her fingers into her wetness. My c***k rear its head inside my pants again and I have to adjust my pants to make room for it. I clear my throat, reminding myself how desperately I need to find a way to protect her and protect those who are loyal to me. It has to be my only course of action right now. “Have you always wanted to be a Stormhalt soldier?” I ask George who seem distanced. His black eyes staring into the clear sky, lost in his own world. He returns his attention to me, “No, my Lord… I wanted to go to college and get a bachelor’s degree in robotic engineering. Build my own machines and change the world." “So the rumor is true, The King did force every able-bodied low rankers in Stormhalt into his army.” He gives a small nod, the expression on his face is perplexed and my heart constricts. I can’t imagine everything these people have been through. “ If you have the opportunity to go live your dreams, will you take it?” I halt abruptly and turn so we are facing each other. He shakes a no head, “My loyalty will always be to the crown.” “Indeed.” I plainly state. His eyes are above my shoulder as his face lit up in a broad smile at something I don’t see. “I hated it here when I first arrived, until I found out fate brought me here for a reason.” He pauses and his eyes flicks back to mine. “ My Lord, I found my mate here. The goddess gave me a purpose to live again.” I follow his gaze to where he is looking at and I see Anna's face poked out from the tall window. Her head tilted up, eyes closed as she takes in the breeze washing over her pale face and messing with her hair. “Princess Anna?” I ask, surprised and scared for him at the same time. “Yes, My Lord. Please, forgive me”. He returns his gaze onto mine, dark and sad. “ I am telling you this because you seem different from the other Thorn's. You are the only one who have shown me kindness.” Clapping a comforting hand on his shoulder, “ You deserve to be happy.” Well I’m not sure about that, but one thing I’m very sure of is, his head gracing the spike if the king finds out. “Are you together?... is she aware of your feelings? “Yes… She is scared of what the king might do to us if he finds out.” “She is right to be scared.” He swallows, “All magical creatures are studied by the elders of our clan, I am a native of Dradona, the smallest clan in Stormhalt. My late grandmother, was one of them. While alive, she had a vision of you, and I believe you’re the one to lead us to the part of light.” I walk closer, taking the time to study George’s face, leaning over in order to do so. There is no fear in his eyes. He has the bravery of a thousand soldiers locked in his plain muscles. I scrunch my nose up, smelling him. A very familiar putrid odor… one than need special sense of smell to sniff it out. I recognize it… dark magic, a very dangerous one. “The Dradonian magic gamo is dark, George. More evil than anything evil I’ve come across in my years of walking the earth. I have witnessed their terror and it’s suffocating. Are you a descendant?” I feel a sense of panic crawl at his throat as he tenses. His throat bub and his face falls, “ I am nothing like them.” He says calmly. “The red-hair lady, Si…. She is your sister?” I ask, nodding my head to gesture him to his horse-blood hair color. His eyes snaps up, shock at my realization. He notates for a second and in a calm tone, “Yes, my Lord.” He hisses through his teeth. “I am not evil and believe me, I will not bring any harm to the princess.” “Your sister, Si, where can I find her?” It isn’t a question but a demand, I know he understands. “I haven’t seen her in years.” “You’re lying to me.” I look over to where Anna is letting the sun tan her face. “Look at her.” I order. George follows my gaze to Anna. “ Take me to Si or you'll lose not just her, but also your head.”
