Chase
As I lined myself behind her round ass, I marveled at the way my body fit naturally with hers. Kendra is sensual, a woman whose body is made to take mine.
I had restrain the urge to dig my teeth into her neck and gift her the markings that will adorn her flesh for the rest of her eternal live because she is not fit to be my Luna.
Even without Ellie in the picture I still wouldn’t choose her, not because I don't want her, but because she won't be safe me. Kendra doesn’t have the courage and power to wield the trident of authority bestowed unto a queen.
We might have mated but not bonded by blood. My obligations to my kingdom as the crown prince comes first before the needs of my flesh. I am bound by rules and restrictions no one will understand.
I have to Marry Ellie in less than a week and for that to happen, no one should ever find out what happened between us today.
I look down, closely observing her. She looks gorgeous naked, everything I could ever want in a girl. The yellow flowers stuck in her hair makes her look like a fairytale princess.
She's aware of my eyes on her, yet the need to submit to her me forces her head down. Her focus is on the ground near my feet. Her fear is exhilarating. A delicious tease to my senses. I smirk in amusement.
Shoving my hand inside my jeans pocket, I pull out her charm bracelet. “Your bracelet.” I throw it down and it lands on her chest. “Get dressed, I will walk you back to the spring.”
“Thank you, my Lord.” She scramble to her feet, slapping flowers and grasses off her skin and brushing her disheveled hair down with her fingers.
It’s late in the evening now, the setting sun is sending its light through a high concentration of dust particles. The scent of flowers lingers in the air, the rays of the red sun on her body makes her creamy skin to glitter with a mesmerizing beam.
I watch as she slide into every piece of her clothes.
I clear my throat, ready to tell her what would likely break her or cause her heart to ache more than the soreness I planted between her folds. “ Kendra, what happened here today…” I pause, deciding against it. Her gaze flick up at me and my blood runs cold
She gives me a questioning look. “ What about it, my Lord?” She asks, worrying at it as she shifts her weight from one foot to the next. “Am I in trouble?”
My throat bulb as I swallow hard. “No… you’re not in trouble.” Her shoulder sag in relief but not for too long as I finally crack the coconut shell. “ It means nothing to me."
"What do you mean?" She asks, her timbre shaky.
I move closer and tug her hair behind her ear. I tilt her face up so I'm gazing into her eyes. "I should have controlled myself knowing that we'd never be."
Kendra’s mouth drops open a little, and I catch the horrified stare on her face as streaks of tears fall from her eyes and trail down her cheeks. I know what she must be thinking, that I’m a f*****g monster. She’s breaking into tiny pieces but I am not done…
“This should not have happened. I am with someone and we're working on having our mating ceremony soon." I can see her flinch back, clasping her hands in front of her, although I can still see them shaking.
I keep my voice flat and emotionless, and I hate every word as it comes out of my mouth. If father gets a whiff of my involvement with another woman, he will hunt her and then, I’m not going to be able to get her or I out of his wrath.
Two women I was involved with a year a ago suddenly disappeared from the palace without trace. I know what my father do with them. I can't be selfish and let Kendra walk that road.
I have to keep her away from me, it's the only way I can protect her. Kendra is better off not trusting me, not relying on me, not hoping that I will crown her head one day… because that day will never come.
She stares at me in mute horror. I know she has a lot to say but she bites it down, chocking on the helpless tears streaming her eyes and it f*****g shreds me up inside.
I feel swamped with guilt, so much of it that it’s drowning me. I want to go to her, to hug her, to kiss her plump lips and tell her that everything I just said to her is a lie, but in so many ways I’m as helpless as she is in this case.
A quick, sharp warning bell rends the air. My ears peck up, hairs on my body stands. The bell chimes only when there is an attack on the kingdom. The last time I heard the sound of the bell was when assassins entered the palace and tried to kill the King. But that was many years ago.
With a start, I throw my t-shirt over my shoulder and power-run off immediately leaving Kendra behind to sort herself out. I run Without looking back until I made it back to the field.
To my surprise, the palace sits quiet. Except for The Dark cloud Military troops standing at attention in their heavy armor, nothing else seem odd.
The king is standing in the open clearing with few of our men positioned Behind him. My eyes narrow. Something doesn’t feel right. Why is my soon to be father in-law sending in more troops? Is Stormhalt in danger?
I start walking up the center of the field towards my father. I pass each row of soldiers, they bow and then turn their formation to follow my every step. Footfalls of every werewolf who’d been on the row vibrate against the ground.
They take their positions, standing tall behind me with their head s I reach to the front where the king stands. He looks at me closely, in a way that makes me feel like he’s seeing straight through me.
“ Father, what is the meaning of this? Why are there so many of King Ryder’s men in the palace." I look back and see them lined in rows behind me like zombies. "... and why are they matching like zombie's behind me?"
“They’re yours to command. Your early Royal mask gift... there are two hundred of them.” He gives me a fond look like a father to his unruly son.
Why isn’t anyone else bothered by the recent developments. King Arthur's men are gradually outnumbering our own men. He uses every opportunity to send in more troops and I find it worrisome.
In a serious tone, “Father, we need to talk.”
“Over dinner… I invited your brother to join us.”
