Hospital

My eyes flicker open to the bright lights and I squint before blinking several times trying to get them to adjust. I sit up and scan the room and see a man curled up on a chair in the corner. “Hello?” I say and he stirs before coming to his senses, taking a deep breath, and sitting in the chair before noticing me. He clears his throat and stands to his feet. “Hello, how are you feeling?” He asks slipping on his gray dress jacket over his dark blue shirt and black tie. He straightens the collar and makes his way to the side of my hospital bed. He quickly runs his hand through his short black hair and then grips the side railing. “My head hurts,” I clear my throat and feel my forehead before wincing. “Yes, I’m sure it does,” He reaches his hand over and touches my head. “Who are you?” I ask as he pushes a strand of hair out of my face and tucks it behind my ear. “Sawyer Pavlov,” He says simply as he smiles down at me. His big dark brown eyes sparkled under the fluorescent lights. As he said his name I felt that ever-present pang and grabbed my chest, furrowing my eyebrows before looking at him. The door swings open and standing on the side of Sawyer is a complete carbon copy of him. Same black hair, big dark brown eyes, tanned skin, and a muscular barrel chest. I stared at both of them as the pain in my chest was the same as I remembered before I passed out. I gasped while still clutching my chest. “Breathe, Just breathe, it’s okay, he’s my identical twin brother, Sage.” I pass a look between both of them before finally working up enough courage to respond. “Which one?” I manage to breathlessly get out, still clutching my chest. They stare at each other before turning back to me, but still, they don't answer. “Which one?!” I say louder staring at both of them. “Both,” They answer simultaneously. “Both? Both! Wait…” I start hyperventilating and Sawyer starts rubbing my back as Sage grabs my hands or was it the other way around? “Both,” I manage to get out between breaths. “Yes,” they both say still trying to get me to calm myself. My eyes widen at the beautiful men fawning over me before I start to think back on the time they left me. “That’s impossible,” I contort, looking at both of them before pulling back my hand and moving further away. “You can't have two, and even if you could, where were you?” I get louder as I watch both men start to back away from the bed. “I have been waiting for seven damn years, feeling you come close and then running away. Seven damn years of watching all my friends marry and have babies while I was off locking myself in the bathroom crying.” I stare them down as tears start streaming down my face. “Being the freak with no mate, having my friends feel sorry for me, no family so f**k me right?” I glare at them as I make my way off the bed. “The fat girl with no family, no mate, and her friends just shower her with pity, I get it, I’m not good enough, maybe I never was, not pretty enough, not skinny enough. I mean look at the both of you, you are both Greek Gods come to life.” I continue my rant. “Men shouldn’t look as good as you two, no one should have full lips like you or such chiseled jaws, It’s like someone sculpted you, how are you so gorgeous?” I quickly shake my head as I try to reach out and touch them both. “Of course, you avoided me, look at me, just reject me, stop avoiding me,” I sigh grabbing onto the bed before collapsing onto the floor. But before I reach it hands come out and grab me, gently placing me back in bed, as I pass out once again. I wake up and standing over me is a grumpy-looking old man in a white coat I could only assume is the doctor, he clears his throat before walking out of the room. I sit up and look around. Empty. Of course, they would leave me without getting any answers. “We didn’t leave Princess,” One of the twins walks in with the other quick on his tail. “We got you some donuts and a coffee,” The other says as he walks over to me and lies the box on my lap before handing me my coffee. As I grab it the pang hits my chest again and I almost drop it. “Are you okay?” He asks before trying to hand me the coffee again. “No, don’t you feel it?” I ask looking into his face, noticing his black goatee and light stubble on his cheeks. “Yes, we both do,” He says grabbing two donuts and heading over to sit in the teal chair next to his twin. “Can I get some answers? How do I stop the tug in my chest?” I ask looking at both of them before they stand up putting their coffee and donuts on the small table beside them. “We can ease it,” One of them says as he saunters over to the side of my bed grabbing onto the railing. “Or we can make it stop completely?” The other strides over next to his brother before winking at me. “Make it stop!” I protest looking between the two. “Right now, right here? You naughty girl” One of them protests as he looks around the room with a half-c****d smile. “What? What do you mean?” I ask widening my eyes. “Wait, don’t tell us, you’re a virgin?” Sage asks or maybe it was Sawyer god I need to get them name tags. I roll my eyes. “Yes!” I state loudly before turning my head so they won’t notice me blush. One quickly grabs my chin and they both smile looking down at me. They lick their lips and I feel my face redden as I look down. Suddenly one of them lands their full colored lips right on mine. The explosion I felt was indescribable, And then another pair locked on to mine, back and forth between the two and I can’t tell who was kissing me not that I could before. Until they pull back and I finally open my eyes. “How does it feel now?” A twin asks me as he smiles and can’t help but blush again. I nod my head and they both step back to their seats. “My other questions...” I manage to squeak out as I now notice my voice has suddenly gone up an octave. They both shared glances with me before their expression changed to sad ones. “Well,” One of them starts but I quickly cut him off. “Name,” I blurt out before a big grin reaches his face. “Sage,” His tongue pokes at the side of his mouth as he playfully scoffs. “Well, to tell you, we were afraid. When our parents had my brother and me, we were always told that we would both have our soulmates. When we were eighteen, we were taken aside and told that because we were identical twins we would share a mate.” “Our parents told us,” Sawyer finishes where his brother stopped and I just couldn’t get over how cute it was. I felt my face brighten and I tried to stifle my smile. “We didn’t want to believe them, so of course, we spent the first two years visiting every doctor we could with the same result, we would share one soulmate.” “So, we hid away and got drowned in work, we established a multimillion-dollar company,” Sage continued as he finished his coffee and sat it back down on the table. ”And we pushed down any hope of a mate because no one would want us.” “Not to share anyway, and not feeling anything for years we concluded that we wouldn’t get one.” Sawyer paused as he looked at his brother and then back to me. “Until Seven years ago when we were out for a jog and saw this beautiful girl walking along a pond, twirling in her white sun dress as she tossed in bread.” I gasped. They remembered what I was wearing, I held my hand to my mouth as I saw both of them smirk. “We started to walk toward you, seeing you clutch your chest and look around until it hit us, you wouldn’t want both of us. So we turned around and ran home.” “We got into your work office, I’m assuming.” Sage pats Sawyer's knee as he takes over. “The further we got up, the more our chest began to hurt, a pang as you say, and we wouldn’t let you find out in public like that, not in front of your co-workers.” He gets up and walks over to the side of my bed as he starts caressing my cheek with his fingers, I close my eyes and lean into his touch. “We saw you again yesterday, we watched you, feed and clothe the homeless, give a little girl your cupcake, help the owners of the shops, give your time and money to those less fortunate, and feed the fish and ducks.” I open my eyes and watch him adoring me as his brother makes his way over. “And we knew you were the one, we knew that we couldn’t continue to hurt you, we wanted to hold you, and caress you, love you,” Sawer said sitting on my bed taking my hand and rubbing gentle circles on it. “Then we saw that guy sit beside you, buying you ice cream, and we thought you decided to get with another unmated until we heard you scream. The closer we got we could feel the fear in here.” He places his hand on my chest and I blush. “Matthew,” I fume “that asshole, wait he didn’t?” I spit out while my eyes widen, I start to feel them get heavy with tears. “No, Princess, no,” Sage cups my face in both his hands as he looks deeply into my eyes. “We were there for you, we stopped him.” Sawyer grabs both my hands brings them to his full-colored lips and gently kisses them. The hospital room door opens and the twins move to the side. A nurse comes in and blushes not taking her eyes off of my mates, I snap my fingers and get her attention. She rolls her eyes at me before eyeing them again. “Here are your papers, You’re being released,” She shrieks out before bringing her attention back to the twins walking out slowly swaying her hips. “That’s wonderful news, baby girl,” Sawyer comes to my side and leans down kissing me on the lips before a protested hey, was given by his brother with a kiss by Sage after. “I’ll tell Lawrence the good news, and tell him to pull around., He pulls open the door and leaves. “Lawrence is our driver and good friend,” Sage shrugs. “I’m going to thank the doctor Princess, Don’t move, I’ll be right back to help you.” The same nurse strolls in with a smile rolling a wheelchair before she notices the twins aren’t in the room, then her face turns into a scowl in my direction. “What is your issue with me?” I boldly ask while getting my feet out of the bed. She looks me up and down. “Who are those men to you?” She asks folding her arms across her chest. “Like your brothers or something?” “What? No!” But she cuts me off before I can say anymore. “Childhood friends, you have a crush on?” She stares at me c*****g her blonde eyebrows. “Like they’d have anything to do with you!” I let my face falter and look down, maybe she was right. I didn’t however see Sawyer and Sage both quietly enter the room and head in my direction and neither did she. “Princess, I hope we didn’t keep you long, you know how I just can’t keep my hands off of you,” Sage exclaims as he picks me up one-handed by the back of my thighs before kissing me and handing me over to his brother. “Baby Girl, we are sorry for keeping you, but I can’t wait to take you home and ravage you,” Sawyer dips me to deepen the kiss. I squeal which makes the blonde nurse huff. “Oh, we didn’t see you there, please give us a minute to have our way with our mate.” She storms out bumping into the wheelchair on the way out. I whisper my thanks to both of them and they respond by bear-hugging me each, my eyes fall on the wheelchair and I groan. “No wheelchair for my mate, not when we look like this.” Sage and Sawyer both smile wide as they start flexing their muscles and I am honestly amazed their shirts didn’t rip with their bulging biceps already. “I need to change,” I look down at the pink-colored hospital robe, and my cheeks flush. “Turn around,” “So, innocent,” Sawyer says as he smacks Sage playfully in the arm at which they both laugh. I turn around and try to quickly change when a pair of hands grab my waist and spin me around. “You are stunning Baby Girl,” Sawyer bends down and kisses me as I finish snapping my overalls. “We are utterly transfixed Princess,” Sage bellows and he grabs my face and leans me toward him kissing me. It’s quickly cut short as Sawyer’s cell phone rings. “Come Baby Girl, Lawrence is excited to meet you,” Sawyer scoops me up in his arms as Sage grabs my things and we walk out of the hospital and soon I’m thrust into the back seat of the SUV. “Lawrence, this is Jessabelle, Jessabelle, this is Lawrence.” “Wait, I never told my name,” I admit, looking between the both of them. “Ahh, yes, we looked in your wallet so we could tell the doctor,” Sage admitted. “Yes, we walked into the hospital screaming to help our mate, but couldn’t give the doctor your name.” He laughed putting his large hand on my thick thigh. “Nice to meet you, Lawrence,” I say rushing as I look between them. “Where are we going?"
