I keep being more and more impressed with each meal. I just found it amazing that the cooks or maybe Just Agnes could make this much food three times a day.
Over the past few months, Agnes and I became friends and got to know each other more. she's such a pretty old lady and very good company.
Over the past few days, Alpha has yet made another appearance. I don’t know if I should be relieved or sad. Given the fact that we really connected the last time, he was here.
Coinin’s POV:
I sighed as I finally finished reading through those files. The files that I should have been done with a week ago. But I was busy with other things.
The chair creaked slightly as I leaned back, running my fingers through my hair.
The other Alpha’s are not going to like the fact that the human population in our city had decreased 7% in the last 3months.
And since the winter months are coming it will probably lead to even more.
Fewer humans equal to less human mates for our kind.
I set the files in with the others as I stood up.
I’ve been reading through and editing those damned things for too long and I was tired as hell.
I began unbuttoning my shirt as I made my way over to my closet to change into something more comfortable.
My thoughts wondered to my mate and I felt the urgent urge to see her right now.
I made my way out of my room and walked past a few doors before I got to her room.
I met my two trusted guards by her door, guarding her.
Immediately they saw me, they made way for me to enter.
I opened the door gently not to wake her up because it was already 2 in the morning.
I glanced down at my mate as I went to close the windows she left open.
It was different seeing a peaceful look on her face. The rest of the time she just looked like an unhappy puppy.
And for a good reason too. She is smart, I’ll give her that.
Even though her face was peaceful, the tension in her shoulder’s was still visible.
I wonder when she will completely feel safe here.. when she would realize that I want nothing but her safety.
I made my way back to my room.
I stretched my arms over my head, hearing a small c***k before I turned and headed towards.
Diana’s POV:
I turned my head towards the now closed windows, seeing nothing but darkness through the small c***k in between the curtains.
It had to have been at least a couple of hours since I fell asleep. I looked around and I was all alone.
Why do I have a feeling that someone was in my room?
I relaxed a bit. It took me a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. I let out a long silent exhale as I quietly back onto the pillow.
My eyes fixed onto the ceiling as I covered myself in the blanket and drifted to dream land.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was standing in my favorite spot by the window looking at the city I once lived in freely and then suddenly I felt strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me causing me to crash into the form chest of the man who stood in front of me and soft gasp left my parted lips. His eyes at first so intently gazing into my eyes, now released me from their burning hold and fell down to my parted lips. He tightened his grip pulling me impossibly closer.
“Mine. I’ve missed you so much.” Alpha mumbled softly nuzzling his face into my neck inhaling my scent. His soft hair tickled my skin, but my body had become too numb for it to bother me. I felt myself quiver in fear, despite how softly he spoke. His voice had a rough near the primal edge to it that awakened my own instincts to flee.
I struggled to get out of his arms and he let out a low threatening growl effectively scaring me even more and fueling my struggles. But my struggles were futile for the man was too strong it seemed he wasn’t even slightly affected by my movements.
“Calm down Angel, I won’t hurt.”
The man said, clearly trying to soften his deep voice as much as possible.
I stopped struggling hoping he would release me. His large warm arms stayed tight around my waist, but they shifted to my lower back. Allowing me to bend enough to look at his face.
“What is your name?” Alpha asked, his scorching blue eyes so intense, it took me longer than it should process the words. Plus why all of a sudden is he interested in knowing my name.
“D-Diana Grace.” I stuttered out finally.
“Diana Grace.” He said lightly, testing my name on his tongue.
“Beautiful.” He growled out in approval and I couldn’t help but flush slightly.
“Angel, I want you to come live with me.”
My eyes widened as the possibilities of what that could mean.
“In my room.” He continued.
“I think it’s best if we share the-same room. I can not have my mate so far away from me anymore. It kills me that I can’t see you every day because of my busy schedule.”
“I- but - I don’t want to share a room with you.” I sputtered out.
He frowned. “ and why is that?” He stated firmly.
“I can’t live with you, you are you and I am a human and this- this is just.” I trailed off not knowing how to phrase my thoughts without Offending him enough to rip my throat out.
“ you are my mate. Mates live and stay together. That is the rule. And simply stating it, I can’t live without you Angel nor do I want to.” He said. His eyes getting softer as he spoke.
I realized the hidden message behind his words. There was nothing I could do about this, I was his, and he could make me do anything.
That was the rule, mates belonged to one another and wolves went to great lengths when a human mate would try to refuse them.
This man being the Alpha could get everyone I love beheaded, before I could utter out an apology.
That was what he was probably hinting at when he brought up the rule. I felt my chest get heavy as I realized I had no choice in the matter.
“ I understand.” I said looking down not able to meet his eyes.
He gently reached up using a finger to tip my chin up so I would look at him.
“I will let you get ready. I will ask Agnes to send in maids to help you pack.”
And with that, he made his way to the door and left me standing.
