The Alpha’s Mate

Chapter Four

I quietly walked into the room after what happened between me and the Alpha. I was still shocked by the incidence.. he reminded me of the man I met at the ball. The man who claimed to be my mate and forcefully took me away.

How can one change so fast... I mean he was a different person today when I was in his arms. I thought to myself while heading to the stool to get dressed. I guess this is my life now.

I slipped into the soft yellow material. Looking at myself in the standing mirror made me stopped thinking for a moment. The dress is more beautiful on my body. The color of the dress is a happy color. I couldn’t help but smile.

I was about to zip up when I heard a knock on the door and shortly after, A woman came in together with Agnes. Which I came to realize that she was the tailor. She came to take my measurements.

“Good day ma’am. I hope you like your breakfast and I hope the dress fits.”

“Yes Agnes. Everything was perfectly okay. I enjoyed every bit of it.” I said that with a little smile on my face.

“Uhmm about the dress, I was just about to find out. Can you please give me a hand? I need help zipping my dress up. I couldn’t get my hand to reach.”

“Oh don’t worry my dear. I am here whenever you need anything.” She said that while she threw her hands in the air.

Agnes is such a nice old lady. Or perhaps she’s just doing her job.

She came closer and zipped me up. We found out the dress is a little bit more than my size.

“Oh! I am so sorry my dear. I thought this will fit as you’re a little bit thick.”

“Oh nooo that came out harsh. I didn’t mean you’re fat, please forgive me.”

“Agnes it’s totally fine.” I said. while I was still laughing. The look on her face was so hilarious. She was so scared. What did she think I was going to do to her tho.

I saw her relaxing a little bit. This old woman is so cute. I thought to myself.

“I get it Agnes. I know I am thick and honestly I don’t bother myself because I am contented with how I look.”

“Now will you calm down and let the tailor take my measurements, while you go to the kitchen and fix me something to eat because I am starving in here, and while you’re doing that make some hot chocolate please.”

She nodded and gave me a small smile which I returned with a much bigger one.

“Shall we begin now ma’am?” The tailor asked.

“Sure. Let’s start.” I replied.

“I know the exact perfect styles to sew for you ma’am. The perfect colors to go with the color of your eyes and hair. I just know the perfect things to do ma’am.”

“Oh you’re about to get transformed.” She kept on ranting about how perfect, I’ll look when she is done sewing my clothes...

This one is The cheery type. I thought. She reminded me of Eva. My best friend. I felt a tightness in my chest. I Suddenly remember how miserable my life is now and how it’s going to continue to be like this forever.

Tears started welling up in my eyes but I quickly forced them back. I don’t want to make a mess of myself in front of the tailor lady which I came to realize that I hadn’t asked her what her name was and I think she forgot to mention it as well.

“Uhmm, what’s your name?”

“You can call me Gwen ma’am.” She said and smiled at me.

“Gwen is a beautiful name. I like it.” I said and returned her smile.

“Thank you, I am glad." Gwen Said.

There was a knock on the door and shortly after, Agnes walked in holding a tray in her hands. She placed it gently on the stool and said, “food is here my dear. And I made the hot chocolate as you asked. I hope you like my hot chocolate because my recipe is quite different and more tasty.”

I could detect a little pride in her voice while she was complementing her special recipe. And I couldn’t help but imagine how it would taste when it enters my mouth.

I picked up the mug to have a taste and immediately it hit my tongue I could feel my eyes closing because of the intensity of the sweet, delicious hot chocolate.

“OMG Agnes. This is amazing. I’ve never tasted a hot chocolate that tastes so good like yours.

“Mmmm this is heaven.” I Said and continued taking some more.

Pride was written all over her face. “I know, I know you would like my recipe dear”. Agnes said to me while I was still gulping my choco.

We had not realized that Gwen was still in the room until she cleared her voice and both of us turned to face her.

“I think my work here is done and I would like to take my leave.” Said Gwen. While she was still packing her measuring stuff.

She looked up and smiled at us, “I’ll just leave now and let you enjoy your meal. Your clothes would be ready by the weekend. Meanwhile I have some clothes that you’d be wearing before then sent to you in an hour.”

I nodded while I was still on my big mug of hot chocolate.

“I’ll walk you out Gwen.” Agnes Said.

Both women walked out of the room and I was left all alone again.

My thoughts wondered to the Alpha and shivers spread all over my body. Everything that happened came back rushing back to me.

I wonder what brought him to my room earlier and why he was standing directly outside the toilet door... I wonder where he is now...
