Her Mate, His Luna

Chapter 7

*Third person POV*

    The next morning was an emotional one for the Blood Moon pack. After breakfast, Aliane went to say goodbye to her pack. Since she was the Alphas, daughter and second in line to be Alpha, it was hard for everyone to say goodbye. She had formed a bond with everyone in the pack. They were friends and family to her. But after that emotional part came the part that hurt her the most.

    She had to say goodbye to her best friends, brother, and parents. Aliane says goodbye to Notta and Reva first. They are her best friends, and she loves them so much. They all cry and hug for what seems like forever, but it is a few minutes. They promise to call each other all the time and then that was it. Next, she said goodbye to her brother. Kyne had a stray tear rolling down his cheek. Aliane whipped it off his face and went in to hug him. They breathe in each other's scents, and it relaxes them ever so slightly. Aliane whispers, "Be strong and take care of mom and dad. I love you, and I'll see you soon, K." in Kyne's ear, and he pulls away from her and takes her hand. He nodded and squeezed her hand tight. 

    Then she does the hardest thing yet. She says goodbye to her parents. Her father looks like he wants to cry, but he holds himself together. He always knew this day was going to come. He had hoped her mate would be in the pack, but he also knew from the moment he held her that she was born to be a Luna and that she was unique beyond his wildest dreams. His thoughts were confirmed three years when she shifted for the first time. He smiled at the memory. His daughter is a blessed wolf. She had the mark of the moon goddess. Aliane goes to her father first. She runs into his arms, and he catches her with ease. She holds on to him as her life depends on it, and he does the same. His baby girl was leaving home and with an amazing man as a mate. He couldn't be more proud of his little girl. He leans down and kisses her forehead, and she looks up at him with tears running down her face. 

"I love you, baby girl," he says 

"I love you too, dad."

Then they pull away.  Aliane walks up to her mother and stops a few feet in front of her. She looks at her beautiful and strong mother. Her best friend, her protector. She was close to her father, but her mother was her everything. Her mother wipes the tears from her eyes and looks at her darling daughter up and down. She wasn't a little girl anymore but a woman. A sweet,  loving, funny, and smart woman. She ran to her daughter and pulled her into her arms. She rested her head into the crook of Aliane's neck and breathed her in. Then she whispered. 

"I love your daughter. This is not goodbye. You may be moving, but we are there for you whenever you need us. Love your new pack and push your self and Ivàn to be the best leaders and people you can be. Don't be scared to meet your new pack because they will love you. They will protect you, and you will earn their trust and respect. Be brave, sweetheart!"

"I will try, mom. I love you and will miss you all so much. I hope you can come and visit you soon."

    Ivàn waits next to the car while Aliane says her goodbyes. You can see that he is in pain because she is sad, and he can't fix it. He believed her when she told him last night that she wanted to leave with him. But seeing her saying goodbye to her family hurt him because he felt her sadness and anxiety, leaving the only home she has ever known.

    When Aliane stepped out of her mom's embrace, Ivàn Immediately walked up to her and hugged her from behind. She wasn't so sad anymore. What her mother had said to her cheered her up and made her way less concerned about leaving. "Whatever Aliane's mother said to her helped calm her, down" Ivàn thought. 

    Aliane and Ivàn waved goodbye to everyone and got in their car and started their drive home.

*Aliane Pov*

    We are on our way to my new home, and I'm nervous and excited. I'm nervous because I don't know if they will accept me. Or what if I never earn their trust and respect. I'm going to meet my mates family for the first time, and I don't know if there will be disappointed or happy.  All of these terrible what-ifs are running through my head and just adding to my anxiety. I'm also excited, though. I'm going to start a new life. I have a mate, and I have an opportunity to make new friends. 

"Mariposa, what are you thinking about?"

"I just want your pack and your family to like me..."

"They will love you, don't be so nervous. Everything will work out for the better. 'Our' pack will love you because you're their Luna. Our pack will protect you because the goddess blesses you. As for my family, do you remember yesterday?"

"Yes, I do; why?"

"I was talking to my twin sister. She wants to meet you. My Beta is her Mate and told her about you, and she was not happy that I didn't tell her right away. She wants to meet you more than anything and is happy to have a sister. So don't worry, Mariposa, everything will be okay." 

"Why didn't you tell me? I will try not to worry, Love, but it is a big deal."

"I didn't want to make you nervous." 

I yawned and nodded in agreement. 

"Go to sleep Mariposa. I got you."

I snuggled into him and closed my eyes to take a well-needed nap.
