ALPHA QUINN’S POV
I placed my hands behind me and perambulated around the palace, as different thoughts engulfed my mind. I glanced at the map on the table and pondered on the suggestions that were slowly clouding my mind.
His hoarse voice suddenly pierced through my thoughts, “How do you want to go about it? Would you rather negotiate with them? In place of coercion?”
I glanced at my Dad and diverted my eyes to the door. “That’s a town filled with humans. Negotiation would indeed be a peaceful approach, but what if they revolt?”
Mr. Ares stayed mute as his eyes darted from place to place. Hence; I went further, “If they dislike our terms, they might revolt immediately. Or, they might agree to our terms and take us by surprise by rebelling against us”
He suddenly asked with concern, “Why do you only think about the worst things? Have you thought about it in the positive aspect? What if they just agree to your terms after negotiation? I still feel that it’d be better to negotiate.”
I rolled my eyes at him and suddenly understood why he sulked at handling trivial matters like this. “That’s your approach and this is mine. I’ve always done it my way and it comes out successful. It won’t be different this time”
My Dad infuriated me the more, “What if you fail woefully this time?”
I gawked at him and regretted inviting him into the situation in the first place, “There are no ifs in life, and Alpha Quinn has never failed before. It won’t be any different now”
I walked out and summoned my chief guard, “Get me the Gamma!” he nodded and mounted the horse, before leaving the compound.
With my hands behind me, I walked back into the palace and was relieved to see that my Dad had left already. In no time, the Gamma arrived and sat down while awaiting my order.
I stood up with the map in my hand and gazed at him with an expressionless face, “Get your men ready. We’ll be going to overthrow a not-so-distant town. They should be well prepared and equipped with all materials. Anyone who comes unprepared would not live to see the next minute”
“Noted Your Majesty”
I reclined to my bed and started picturing how I was going to take control of the town and have the members under my authority. Gaining victory over them would bring so much power and authority to my name.
As the day broke, I dashed into the bathroom and had my bath. Thereafter, I wore my silver armored vest and armored short pants. I fastened my sandals to my shin and wore my silver armor helmet mask on my face.
Furthermore, I arrived at the dining and had my simple breakfast of steamed buns and sausages, alongside a cup of energizing tea. Feeling refreshed, I stood up and headed to the compound.
I shot one last look at my Dad and sped off with the Gamma and his men. As soon as we approached Nolan Town, I drew out my sword from its sheath and held it with my left hand, while strongly holding the reins with my right hand.
As we got to the town’s gate, I glared wickedly at the men at the gate, “On the floor! Your faces should be on the floor right now!”
They tried running back in to get their weapons, but my archer was fast enough to shoot his arrows into them. With that, we entered the town and faced strong opposition from the soldiers of the town.
Intending to become the most powerful, most feared, and the most gruesome Alpha, I got down from my horse and sliced, slit, and slashed the unfortunate soldiers who approached me.
Furthermore, the battle got intense, as the human soldiers were unwilling to retreat and surrender. We went twice as hard, killing all the opposition that came our way. Sooner than later, many young men were lying lifeless on the floor, with blood dripping from different parts of their bodies.
I mounted my horse once more and looked at the number we were able to bring down. A small amount of my men were dead, but a larger amount of Nolan’s men were on the floor. The statistics brought nothing but joy to me.
Just when I thought that we had outnumbered all their men, a chisel-chested man suddenly appeared and started revolting.
Slowly, my men were beginning to drop to the floor. This infuriated me. I held the reins and was about to advance towards this man when a few of my men suddenly apprehended him.
I felt relieved and headed in the opposite direction. There, I saw the face of the one I hated and despised the most. I mumbled while trying to be sure of who I was seeing, “Scarlett?”
My eyes widened in shock after seeing an arrow heading towards her. I gripped the reins of my horse tightly and hurriedly tried to reach her, before a figure swept past me and saved her.
This figure caught the arrow in his hands and held her close to him. I abruptly stopped my horse from moving and waited for the figure to turn around.
It turned out to be no other person but the one who was killing my men earlier. I clenched my fists and wondered who he was and why he kept sticking his nose into what was not his concern.
I gazed at Scarlett who had already passed out in the arms of this broad-chested guy, and felt my heart wrenching.
As my Gamma approached me, I gawked at him and ordered, “Find out who he is and get back to me!”
With that, I shot one last look at them and turned to leave. As soon as we got to the pack, I alighted and got into the palace. On seeing my Dad and Flint, I declared;
“I want her back!”
