72. Purification Of The Dead
A haystack of smoke erupted from the hole we had opened, eventually revealing what seemed to be a human. I recognized him right away, and it was then that I understood it was Kaji. I've seen him a few times, so I have a vague memory of what he looked like. But I don't remember ever seeing him with chains or injuries on his body. As best as I can recall, he just seemed to be an old guy who was a workaholic. At the very least, it was the last time I saw him. But right now...he looks like a total monster. I swallowed the lump on my throat as I stared at Kaji, waiting for him to launch his attack. I saw that he was carrying something that seemed to be a hammer, and it appeared as if he was prepared to swing it about and kill us. I'm perplexed by his current state and the reason for his being
