Coming Home

Darren's thoughts

I can finally smell home. Its has been 4 year. Now im old enough to become alpha. and bring my pack back to its former glory. The year after my father sent me to finishing school he was killed by the rouge packs around us. in three months at the moon festival i will become the alpha and drive all the rouge off the land that was once our land. my mother and uncle have been running the pack since my father passed.

Suddenly a smell comes in the bus window. I've never smelled something so amazing in my life. a voice in the back of my mind comes threw

" mine" my inner wolf yells

" There's nothing we can do until we get home. mother has already put a welcome party together." I have to stay focused we are still 6 miles from the newest border.

Putting my nose in the air to minimize the scent of her.

"we will come back tomorrow morning to find her. If we are lucky she will be the to welcome us home."

i look down at my phone 30 minutes left

(Allison p.o.v)

I was running along the road. Barely getting access before the gray hound bus almost it me. As I turn to make sure i wasn't hurt a amazing smell hit me. And when I say hit me. It hit me like a frate train. It smelled of the forest after a rain storm.

"mate" Lilly my wolf yelled

" No it cant be. we have ran the way a thousand times." I say back trying to calm her

" But you've heard the rumors. That packs kids are coming back from school. All the rouges know this." Lilly says

Sadly if it is true their new alpha is coming. That means we will be out of a home.

" Lilly, you know that means we will be pushed out. We aren't members of any pack anymore. That alpha will fight to get this land back form all of us rouges. No matter what." I say looking back at that bus

Just feel those words come out of my mind hurt. I wasnt always a rouge I had pack i was an alpha youngster daughter. set to become a luna. But sady three years ago when the alpha of the pack next to us was killed by rouges. My pack was an easy target. We had very little fighter. We were mainly farmers and craftsmen for the Rockey Mountain pack. They had taken over my pack of Pine View. we had a working agreement with them. we farm amd make supplies for them and any member can move to bacome fighter or vice versa.

Lilly wines to fallow the bus take over. before I knew it we were near the last stop for the bus. And right into alot of trouble if we got caught here.

finally back home I get off the bus as fast as my stiff legs allow me. As soon as I stepped out of the bus and opened the luggage doors to the felt of the boring door that smell hit me again. The amazing smell of hunny due and rose.

"Darren fallow the smell please!" Max wines

i quickly hand my bag to Duck my bata. and run to the back of the bus. im looking around. walking across the road when i see someone move down the embankment next to the road. Try to see who but all i got was a glimpse of a white tail running as fast as possible in the other direction. i hear the bus pull off and foot steps behind me.

"What the hell man? You threw your bag at my face." Duck says confused amd allit worried.

"I'm sorry man. I just smelled something and thought." I stop myself " You know what it doesn't matter now."

" It does matter it was our mate. Don't play her down to nothing." Max yells in my head.

" Max she ran away from us. She might have had a message or a job she couldn't stray from. we are at war as of the second the bus got into the territory. You and I have to be ready. we are taking back all of our lost land and now in the next month. We will find her again." I say holding stong to the task at hand.

We make our my to the road and get into the pack SUV. I'm ready to get to my pack and start fixing this mess.

about ten minutes later we are at a plato on the side of the mountain. See the pack house and the small army of family waiting for use. Thankfully we have had the man power and money to keep up on everything. I know this war is going to take alot from my pack but it will give us so much back.

(Allison's P.O.V)

"Lilly, what and he hell were you thinking get that far into their territory. You almost got us captured." I can't even believe this. "So tell me what were you thinking." i give her a minute to think

" I wasn't thinking, OKAY." She yells back at me " I wanted to see him. But I know you won't like to know."

Her words stop me and calm me at the same time.

" What do you mean. i wouldn't like to know."

"Ally, i know who our mate is."

Those work hit me. i domt say anything for a bit and take back control of where we are going. It isn't safe to have this talk only 12 miles from their pack house. the rouge patrols have been picking up a lot for their alpha's arrival home.

I ran for 10 minutes without a peep from Lilly. She knows I'm mad but also confused. I just keep my eyes open and listen to every sound around me.

After about 30 minutes i feel safte enough to talk but not shift in human form.

"Lilly, what do you know?" I'm worried to hear her response.

" Amazing now you want to hear me talk. Well i have a good idea of who it is." she stop to build up the reveal.

"Lilly, spit it out."

Just as I yell at her a twig brakes. I freeze Feel the ground move under my paws.

" I count four higher leveled fighters." Lilly says with a growl.

" Great i knew following that bus as going to end badly." I say back.

I get low to the ground next to a large tree where I've hid before. I'm hiding in the root system trying not to my a sound. the vines make a wall to the opening. the hunny suckle hides my sent well. hopefully well enough this time.

(Darren P.O.V)

"Hello my son" my mother says as i get out of the SUV. come close to give me a huge hug.

"Mom, it's been way to long. I've missed you and this amazing mountain air." i say picking her up with a bear hug back.

"It's good to have you home. I have been busy today making all of you boys' favorite foods as a welcome home." my mother says with a smile made of gold

I see Duck grabe a young girl maybe 17 and spin her around. Duck's wolf told him he had to come home over Christmas and he found his mate Jenny. She had just shifted for her first time. and from the looks of the belly she had we got home just in time.

We all walk into the great hall for dinner. And momma wasn't lying. She had made everything we loved. hams and turkeys along with all the holidays side i miss out on the last four years. and even just plain junk food. there were silly sides like potato skins and wings. I can't believe she went all out like this again.

See everyone made me happy. i was guess uncle Sam was taking care of everything for me to take over. I asked him to get all paperwork sorted and ready for me and my bata for tomorrow morning.

The rest of dinner goes quickly. I see Duck's eyes glass over. He is ina mind link. I look at him worried.

"Duck what's goin on?"

" A patrol has picked up on a rouge. they were asking if we wanted to bring it in or chase it off." Duck says quick looking for my answer.

"Chase it off we can't lose any men yet."

He tells them quickly. We walk away from the table.I give my mother a kiss on the forehead and head to to my room on the second floor. I get to my door and pause. the last time I was in here I was giving my father a hug before going to the wolf finishing school. The school if for high ranking members. We all learn to do diplomatic work and make lasting relationships with other packs.

I walk in. My stuff has already been moved. I never realized how big this room really was. On one end a wall of windows with automatic blinds. There's a large sitting area with a sectional and progenitor tv and theater system. My bed is the size of two king beds. I have no idea why. I'm only one person.

( Allison's P.O.V)

I feel asleep under that tree. I couldn't smell the fighters anymore so I slowly climbed out into the night. The air was cold and the moon was full. I walk to the stream to get a drink. I've been living as only a wolf for to long. but out here it isnt safe to shift.

Out of nowhere I hear a voice. But it's not Lilly. It's not another Wolf or human. I walk to the edge of the tree line where have been head for 3 hours. As I walk out into the field of wheat I feel something telling me I should look up. The melodious voice is coming from the moon. The moon goddess.

" Moon goddess I don't understand you." I look up in confusion

" My child, I need you to go and see the alpha of the Rockey Mountain pack in two weeks. I never intended for you to live like this. Nor for them to start war. I need you to stop him and save you pack and his life. You have to show him this life and teach him a new way to see this world and people live here." She says

" How can I they kill anyone not of a pack. I've been put in the class of a rouge for to long for him to listen to me." I say still confused.

" Sweetie, the alpha Darren well listen to you and only you. Have faith in me."

" Yes goddess I will try to change his mind."

Just like that she was gone. I start walking back to the pack i know will be the end of me. I will never get out of this alive.
