Ch-3
Felix did a double take, struggling to believe what he was seeing—Madison, the main character in that nightmare of a blind date, was now in his home, sitting across the table from his mother.
Beside her was another woman, whom his mom was happily chatting with.
“Oh, Lily, I’ve been meaning to invite you over ever since you came back to the city, but you know how my health has been. I’m just so glad you could come…”
It took Felix a moment to put the pieces together: Lily Brooks, one of his mother's old friends whom he had had heard a lot about but never met, was Madison's mother.
Felix was just processing all this, when Madison spotted him standing by the entrance, and her eyes lit up with anger.
She shot up from her chair, making it scrape loudly against the floor.
"You! Did you seriously follow me back here? What the hell, can't you just leave me in peace?"
Felix stared at her, dumbfounded.
"What? No, this is—"
But she wasn’t listening. Madison grabbed the butter knife from the table, holding it like a weapon.
"Stop right there!" she screamed, pointing it at him.
"How dare you barge in like this? Don't you have any shame or fear?! I know I'm beautiful, and you must be regretting that you lost the opportunity to date a girl like me, but just take a freaking hint! Ugh, I hate desperate guys like you who stick to girls like leeches, refusing to let go."
Felix was trying to make sense of her bizarre accusations.
"Actually, I—"
“I already told you I'm not interested in you! What don’t you understand? What the actual hell! I'm calling Nara right now, to tell her that she set me up with a bloody stalker!"
Felix took a deep breath, how delusional was this girl?
“Listen, Madison, this is my—"
Before he could finish, his mother, Julia, stood up, her eyes wide with confusion. "What are you talking about, Maddy? He isn’t a stalker."
Madison wasn’t having any of it. She was already dialing a number on her phone, glaring at Felix like he was a criminal.
"You don’t know guys like him, Aunty! This i***t fell in love with me at first sight, and now he just can't handle the fact that I rejected him! He's obsessed with me!”
"Enough, Madison! He isn't following you. This is his house, Felix is my son!"
Madison’s eyes widened in shock, while her mother, Lily, looked utterly mortified.
She tugged at Madison's arm, trying to get her to sit down. Felix sighed in relief, hoping that would be the end of it, but he was wrong. Very wrong.
Because instead of calming down, Madison's voice rose even louder.
“Now I get it! You two planned this together, didn’t you!? You wanted to insult me by making me wait, thinking I'll be desperate enough to give you more attention! But guess what? I left you at the café, and now you’ve also roped your mom into this mess!"
Felix’s jaw dropped. She couldn’t be serious.
"Oh my God, I thought you were just some creepy male nurse working at the gynecologist's office to gawk at women's privates! But it turns out, you’re a full-blown psycho! This whole thing was a setup, wasn't it?”
Julia shot a look at Lily, her tone icy.
"Lily, control your daughter. This is just absurd. Doesn’t she know I invited you for dinner weeks ago? If you came here to humiliate my son, you shouldn’t have come at all.”
But Madison let out a bitter laugh.
"Ha! As if I don’t know you’ve been planning this for ages! And Nara—oh, that b***h Nara must be in on it too, right?”
"Madison, stop this now!"
Lily hissed, but Madison ignored her mother entirely.
"Right, Auntie? Let me tell you something! I don’t need to humiliate your son—he’s already shameless enough! Nara fed me this sob story about how your 'poor son' quit his job and burned through all his savings to take care of his mommy, knowing that I'll feel sorry for him! That's why I agreed to this ridiculous date in the first place, out of pity. But now I know, it was all a scheme to trap me!"
Felix felt his patience snap.
"Stop it. I haven’t said a single word to you despite all your rude, arrogant behavior, because I thought I had hurt you by making you wait. But don’t you dare say another word against my mom. Up until now, I’ve been giving you the courtesy of being a ‘lady’, so don't push your luck any further.”
Madison crossed her arms and smirked,
“You really think you can fool me with this alpha male bullshit? Please. You can’t gaslight me now; I know your type! You're just a p*****t who stares at women’s v*****s all day long at the hospital, and you actually think you have a shot with a girl like me? Ha, not even in your wildest dreams!
If you even want me to consider you in the future, you better show up begging on your knees with the key to a Mercedes, a Birkin, and oh! A Van Cleef bracelet at the very least. That’s the bare minimum for the kind of man I date. So if you want to act like an alpha male, better be like them too!”
"Are you out of your mind? I’m not looking to date you at all—"
She cut him off with a scoff.
"You don’t even have that luxury! Not with that attitude, at least. If you think you can make me desperate for your approval by pulling some cheap tricks, it’s useless. Guys like you? You can only get a Princess if you agree to keep her like one and act as her slave!"
"I don’t know what kind of fantasy world you’re living in, but I’m not interested in being anyone’s slave, especially not yours."
Madison rolled her eyes dramatically. "See, that’s your problem. You’re too proud for your own good. Men like you can only attract someone as beautiful as me through money and subservience. So take notes, little boy. If you want to even dream of being with someone like me, you better start working harder on that bank account. You think you’re special? Well, let me burst your bubble. I could have any guy I want with a snap of my fingers!"
"Madison, you’ve got a lot of arrogance for someone who doesn’t know the first thing about what makes a person worthy. You are free to date whichever guy is capable of paying your price, but I'm not interested at all.”
“Good luck with that attitude, because you’re going to be single forever if you keep it up. Men like you are meant to serve, and women like me? We’re meant to be worshiped. So come back to me when you figure that out."
Before the argument could escalate further, the sharp chime of the doorbell disrupted the tense atmosphere.
Julia quickly moved to open the door. Felix’s gaze instinctively followed her, his frustration still simmering—until his eyes landed on the visitor.
He froze in shock.
Standing at the entrance was none other than Arabella Bradshaw.
Was he hallucinating?
He tried to look elsewhere, but even after two minutes, Arabella hadn't disappeared. In fact, another girl was standing behind her, arms full of stuff.
These were the gifts that her boss had asked her to arrange on a short notice, without giving her any further explanation.
Everyone in the room fell silent, their gazes locked on the unexpected guests.
Bella, undeterred by the shocked expressions, stepped confidently into the doorway.
Her voice was clear as she boldly declared,
"Hello everyone, I hope I'm not disturbing you. I’m here to find Felix Renado."
