Felix looked at Bella, confused.
“Wha—?”
Before he could finish, Bella burst out, her frustration crystal clear in her voice.
“Why couldn’t you use your ability to speak when it actually mattered?”
Felix finally seemed to catch on a little bit. He looked at Bella, who was staring at him with a questioning expression, like she was expecting an explanation from him.
“Arabella, what do you mean by ‘it only works in front of you’? The only reason I wasn’t saying anything was because of you!”
He took a breath, running one hand through his hair as he resumed.
“Just think about it, we announced our wedding to them barely an hour ago, and that too completely out of the blue! No doubt it must have been a surprise for them, and considering their reactions, it was not a pleasant one.
