Felix stared at the tea in his hands, the steam swirling in front of his face resembling the beginnings of a storm brewing in his mind. He looked up at Marlena and Nysa… at their faces filled with hope and expectation, and felt a sharp pang of guilt. He couldn’t let them believe this obvious lie, and carry on with it, knowing that this was nothing more than fiction, which could shatter at any moment and hurt everyone involved. He had already faced the pain of losing his father once, and he didn't want to put his mother and sister through the pain of associating with a family who was supposedly associated with him… only to end up losing that connection too. And moreover, he couldn't deprive the Dimero family from finding their real grandson and his family, by claiming that connection.
