(33) Go Against Fate

Jin Xuan Meng tilted her head, her neck cracked as she gazed coldly at him. She got closer to Zi Yingjun and flung her arm reflexively. Four thin needles flew towards Zi Yingjun. Unexpectedly, Zi Yingjun stepped to the side just in time and the needles struck Zi Yan Yue instead. This made both girl pause. Zi Yingjun gave Jin Xuan Meng a brief smile, his eyes sending applause towards her help. Zi Yan Yue turned to look for Zi Yingjun. He is looking somewhere behind them but strangely, time seemed to have slowed down.
"Xiao Yue?" Zi Yingjun caught her falling figure before Zi Gu Wen can even react. A crowd blocked Jin Xuan Meng's sight just as she is about to strike him. "Senior Wen, something's wrong with Xiao Yue."
"I can bring her to the Liu faction." Zi Gu Wen offered. Zi Yingjun nodded with a worried look.
"Take care." he handed Zi Yan Yue to him while secretly removing the needles. Zi Yingjun pitied Zi Gu Wen after he left. Love just holds him back from success. Zi Gu Wen died when the Ye Royal Family annihilated every clan here in Da Long Mountain. He sacrificed himself for Zi Yan Yue. However, what Zi Yingjun only felt was pity, nothing more. Its not like he have the will to help them anyway.
"Zi Yingjun, don't struggle." a dagger was pressed on Zi Yingjun's back. He had expected it but he doesn't feel threatened at all.
"Why don't we talk this out? Somewhere less rowdy." Zi Yingjun suggested. Jin Xuan Meng harrumphed and dragged him to a silent alley. She quickly cornered Zi Yingjun on a wall then pressed the blade on his neck.
"What poison did you use?" she agitatedly asked. Jin Xuan Meng lost her talent and her cultivation speed slowed down. There were times her neck is in pain as if purposely torturing her.
"Ren Xieye Grass." his lips rose to a provocative smile. Zi Yingjun cant kill her before because of the yang energy that Sui Shen used to test if there is still kindness in him. But unfortunately, he does have the thought of killing Jin Xuan Meng slowly if she wont agree to be his decoy. "I have the antidote. However, I won't hand it to you if you wont do one thing."
"All I know is that I can slit your throat right now." Jin Xuan Meng glared. How come he's so calm when he's about to die? Where did his guts come from that he is bantering with her?
"Then do it. You wont be cured and both of us will perish." Zi Yingjun challenged. Her hand loosened its hold around the dagger's hilt. Zi Yingjun chuckled mischievously. She's still a girl anyway, easy to scare. "What I want you to do is to purchase every Ren Xieye Grass then hand it to me. If you're done, meet me outside Zi Clan and I'll hand over the antidote."
"Curse you." she activated her space ring and the dagger disappeared. Jin Xuan Meng raised her foot in a sudden. She stomped it on the wall just below his manhood. It was fortunate Zi Yingjun parted his legs on time. If not, she would have broken his knee or something else, cough. "If you wont give me that antidote, I'll turn you to a eunuch. Not by using blade, but using my foot. I can assure you it will break once I step on it."
Zi Yingjun smiled wryly. He knew less about Jin Xuan Meng in his past life. She acted like a man that no one ever had any suspicion she's a girl. However, what he knew is that Jin Xuan Pei have a cursed younger sister and his clan pursued to kill. Jin Xuan Pei's younger sister has a twin brother. Either the twin brother sacrificed himself to save his sister or one of them died being mistaken as the other.
Jin Xuan Meng casted a wary glare before leaving. Sui Shen, who has been sitting on his shoulder the whole time, cant help but sigh in relief.
"Good riddance, Master. You were nearly crippled." she looked down on the lower part. Zi Yingjun snorted and continued to look for someone. "If that was lost, Master cant dual cultivate, ah. A lot of beauties would have cried. Imagine a Demon Overlord that cant bed a lady."
"I said, I want to be an immortal. If I cant leave behind my worldly desires then I cant ascend." Zi Yingjun thought. Sui Shen tittered and helplessly shook her head.
"Master, you cant become an immortal. The child of fate is the only one allowed to achieve it. However, if the child of fate cant kill you, he wont also become immortal." Sui Shen looked ahead the pavement. For her, she is seeing a never ending road which only leads to doom. "If Master dies for the sake of this world, I will also do it even if branded as a traitor. These mortals knew nothing that we are recreating another peaceful era."
He secretly glanced at Sui Shen. She is in deep thoughts but she can feel his gaze. "This seems ironic. You are helping a demon to conquer this world just to let the immortals send a child of fate to restore the balance. However..." Zi Yingjun trailed off and smiled deviously. "What if I kill the child of fate instead?"
Sui Shen was dumbfounded of his speculation. She was sent to nurture him and turn him into a conqueror. After he becomes the overlord, the heaven's will might pity this world and send another child of fate. The child of fate will become an immortal if he can kill Zi Yingjun as the final enemy. But, if Zi Yingjun were to turn over the table and he kills the child of fate, will he ascend to immortality instead?
Moreover, she is here to aid him. Every time he dies, she can send his consciousness to the past and he must offer his cultivation. Was it possible that they can go against fate?
